Is there anyway to disable it? The repetitive inane comments from the NPCs are annoying. I looked in CTRL O but couldn't find a button to disable it. Did I miss a checkbox, or is there a switch somewhere else to disable it? Thanks.

Does it create lag sometimes too while it loads up the picture for the chatter? i've checked with a friend and he lags up too while npc's chatter to him
Having an option to turn this off would be good i think

lol they make me laugh, I blow em up and they respond with "I'll get you for that!", hehe...

I believe you can toggle this off:
/togglecombattaunts or just /togglec should do it.

I think it's funny when I'm shooting TIE's (as a Rebel) and I get some NPC chatter like "Hold your fire! I'm an Imperial!". I'm like, DUH! That's why I'm shooting you! 
I think I'll be trying that command to turn off the taunts. About the only thing they are good for is seeing when I actually land a hit on the enemy. I've found that the first shot I land will prompt some chatter. Useful when fighting in a group so that you know you'll at least you'll get xp, but gets annoying after a while.

Heheh. Or, after you disable a ship, "I'll shake you!"

THANK YOU! five stars for saving me from useless flavour text. Yep, got all those messages. My fave though so far is blowing a guy up, and having him tell me that "You'll have to do better than that!".

i like the taunts, i keep seeing that different races pop up in the same ship, when its a scyk... the novelty never leaves.

Most of the time, I'm so wrapped up in trying not to get blasted that I don't notice the taunts. The exception to this is the first two or three taunts that I get during a dogfight, since they inevitably lag me out while I load up the images and sounds. I only have 512 megs of ram, so maybe that's the problem.

LOL Great command. I'll need to try it out. One of my favorites is when the disabled gunboat said "I can shake you".
