Thread: Hitting, but no damage

Hey all. I know before I get flamed, that if you try to shoot another missions ships, it makes a buzzing sound. That's not the case here. I can fire, and hit, and do no damage. But if they shoot at me, I take damage. I'm a 1-1-0-1 with a Y-wing and all decent parts. They were Tier 2 mercenary (either black sun or hutt). Is it a bug? Is it possible? I tried to shoot at them for a few minutes with no success, so when I turned to go elsewhere, they would shot and hit me, then I'd turn and shoot them... and nothing.

Thx for any info!

There is a bug where the top and bottom of NPC ships can sometimes be invulnerable. This was a hot issue durring beta and the devs are working on it... but its not proving to be an easy bug to fix.

I would personally like to see this fixed above all other things.

Different ships have to be lead in different ways. Finding the sweet spots on some is evading me.Some do not seem to have the problem at all.

It's a cause from your internet connection, doesnt matter how fast it is, not relaying the information fast enough so if you hit the ship and see that it is animating the shield's being hit then it's basically like shooting behind the ship.

So if you shoot in front of the ship you will notice that you dont really see the shields being hit, but the armor being blasted away.

Yeah it's hard to explain.

So just lead it a good distance and you should get it eventually.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. I will test this out today.

I made a similar post, and someone told me to lead, butI didn't know what the heck he/she was talking about.

It seems to me that there is a serious problem with the position of the ship on the server, in order to hit on the server I have to shoot so far infront of the ship that I miss completly on my side.

I hate to Necro posts but this is the problem I am having. Is there any more info on this? I have satellite internet due to my remote location. My ping time is 1300 normally. The land game for me is laggy but I survive and compensate.

As far as JTL, does anyone else have this problem and what seems to resolve it?

I know it says to lead the target but I'm just wondering if new work arounds have come up.

Thanks for your patience.

I died the first time i went into space, on the retail version of JTL, due to this bug. I got my mission from the CorSec in Coronet and had to fight 2 A-Wing's and a Black Sun Fighter. I hit 1 A-Wing a couple dozen times, but with no success. Everytime i hit it, it's shields would drop to 98% and jump back to 100% right after.
