Thread: What is it behind all these recent changes?

I thought it was just me last night, but I saw the AI's with more speed than usual. Now today I go in and it wasn't me, they have a lot more speed then before making it more difficult. The missions are difficult enough without this added nuisance.
I came with the intention of saying this and I noticed more people complaining of the same thing.
Why are the Devs making it so everyone has a more difficult time? I don't understand the thinking or logic behind some of the recent changes. It's not like they are improving the game because they aren't.
Seems to me the logic behind their strategy is to make players stay here longer. Longer playing time equals more moneyfor them but in the long run it'll actually be less.
First, I say first but its not first, the Jedi setup. When it came out they said, "It will be a long journey to became a jedi".
Well no s***! You need incredible amounts of xp which when turned in is then broken down to virtually nothing. Then to top it off all you get is one (1) lousy box every 4 months. At this rate you'll have to be here at least 3 years possibly more just to level up.
People started leaving the game is droves and SOE saw it, they know whats up.
JTL comes out, at last a "Savior" for SWG. But now they are making changes and the setup they've implemented is nothing but frustration for many people here.
The new "group payout" is another ridiculuos idea. As far as I'm concerned I've no desire to hunt any more. Not like there has been any good good hides, meat or others anyway. People mainly did it for the credits and they've now taken that away too.
Hides, Avian and others have been so bad for so long. I recently saw someone willing to pay 70 credits perfor the Wooley on Rori. I said, finally something good. I went to Rori (perhaps the worse planet in which to hunt) andI checked the hides. They were mediocre at best, at least for Armor they weren't any good. Thats how bad it's been when someone is willing to pay a lot for garbage.
The combat revamp according to whats been said will make you weaker. You'll be lucky if you can solo a nuna lair.
The point I'm trying to make is, this is a place (game) where you come to enjoy yourself, to have a good time for a few hours and it's not happening. If anything the only thing happening is frustration sets in because of the ridiculous setups and changes put in.
Management needs to sit down and re-evaluate the people behind these changes. Remind them this is a GAME not realism. NOT REALISM! On one hand people will have powers (Jedi) and on the other they want changes to equal realism. You can't have it both ways.
Next time people start leaving once again what will SOE have to rescue them? Nothing I hope.

It seems either it didn't go as planned, or their idea of making things more challenging is really to make them more annoying so when we pause in flight to stretch our arm from being hunched over a joystick for 15 mins on one mob, we get shot to hell.

I don't even bother playing JTL right now. I'm not going to play something I can't win at. Fee-based online games are interested in one thing, and one thing alone-extending your play time so they make money. In every case that something seems ridiculous to you, refer to this reminder.

Tier 5 Rebel ship speeds:
B-Wing: 759kph
Y-Wing: 799kph
X-Wing: 999kph
A-Wing: 1099kph
Get the L6 reward engine, get high 60s/low 70s manueverability stats on OTHER L6s (preferably low mass and low power usage as well), and use Engine Overload 3 and keep your throttle at 85% in an Advanced and full in an Interceptor. Also, on any ship BUT the A-Wing, use /matchspeed.
Use an REed L4 booster, too - find a sub-3k and 150ish burn rate L4 and a MandalMotors M-Series or Novaldex Hypernova and RE the suckers. That gives you an extra 261kph for a little over 16 seconds and is GREAT for getting from one ship to another when they're 1.4k apart, and perfect for extricating yourself from a trouble spot in a hurry.
I turn inside A-Wings all the time - my biggest problem isn't that they're too fast, it's that they're too small a target.

well the folks at TC have stated that they have removed the jousting behaviour etc in the AI and say they are working normal again, i just hope they bring it to live soon.
