Anyone have an idea of how much a ship will cost when they come out? I guess it would be good to start saving know, no?

Pretty sure no one has any idea yet, but they will be expensive I wouldn't worry about saving yet as the expansion pack is many months away.

Hopefully there will be a Starship Engineer profession so the prices can be controlled by the players.

I expect there will be a starship engineer. Atleast for the private sized starships.

Ya - how can a smuggler smuggle without a ship? I want a Falcon like everyone else with secret smugglin' bays and stuff. Can't wait for the expansions !!

When the ships come out in 2004,do you think we will be able to slice them?

Like Han did with the Falcon..

Please, don't let us slice ships

At least not the way slicing is implemented atm. Just yesterday I bough nearly a dozen featherweight FWG5s, trying to get a decent slice on at least one of them. Suffice to say I completely depleted the vendor and had to settle for a 28% dmg slice in the end. Now, ships are going to be a lot more expensive than a pesky gun, and spending a fortune just to produce something you could call 'decent' would majorly tick me off.

If they put inslicing experimentation along the way I'm all for it. But Caylin proposed an even better idea of smuggler ship modifications in his revamp article. Read it up
