Tme hutt vs. rancor clan battle. Can the hutts be a little more effective. I don't mind it being difficult but when the rancor just sit there waiting for you to attack, and when you do its bye-bye shields so long armor.
I don't have a problem with the first battle, its the second one that wipes me out. I don't know if there are more after that.
Other than bringing wingmates, was there anyone that was able to do it solo, and if so what and how did you do it?

I tried seven times before I beat it. I finally found a group of 4 other pilots to help me. The other higher-ranking pilot had the same problems I did, and his magic number was 7, too, before he finally got people to help him. As far as I know, that mission is broken, has been broken since Beta, and the only way to beat it is to get people to help you....a slim prospect on some galaxies.

I managed to do it by myself. And the first tier 4 mission by myself. Anyhow the trick is to get the hutt fighters to engage also. The only way i've been able to do that is to ram through them with a bunch of rancor on my tail. They inadvertantly shoot the hutts as I clear them and that get's the hutts into the fight. Works like a charm. I'll aggree it's broken, but i will not agree it's impossible to do it alone. Then again i've been accused of doing the impossible on more that one occasion.

Cool, I will try the ramming thing, if that doesn't work, I will have to recruit....lol

The ramming thing does work...but it might take a few tries, as the Hutts will only attack the fighter that shot one of them. Once that's gone, they go comatose again. So need to get them shot by a lot of the Rancor Clan fighters. Kinda tricky, given the amazing accuracy of the AI.

I Ran it solo in my Dunelizard with all looted equipment with no problems. My strategywasto move fromtarget totarget quickly. Don't focus on just one ship at a time, instead engage a target until another hits your shields then break attack and target the next closest attacker and engagehim. The NPCs will give you a few seconds betweenwhen you breakyour attack on them and when they turn to fire at you again. Repeating this manuver quickly will allow you to engage multiple targets and wear down their shield while you sustain only minimal hits. I used this technique when I was tier 1 to take on groups of upto7 tier3 craft atonce. It works well if you practice it.

Yeah...that tactic works great. I'm not patient enough to do that, though. =)
Another tactic is go for disables instead of kills. It's quicker since you can disable a target as soon as you get through armor.

I realy don't recall the number of waves but I was able to solo it 1st time with minor damage. Here is what I did, (it is also mentioned above). First, dissable is big do it. Next, tactic wise, don't get fixated on 1 target. You have to keep moving. My target priority was go for the heavies as often as possible. Their missiles suck. Keep an eye on the radar. Every time you see a group of 'reds' in the same area, look out. Multiple ships can do alot of damage in one pass. Get on the tail of these groups. If you manage to dissable a ship, move on and leave it. if you get a chance later then kill it. IFF is good, but only once per wave. Use it when you realy need it. Move to way points as fast and as soon as you can. I've soloed everything so far (3-4-3-3). Good luck.

Cool. Thats what I tend to do and Ive solo'd everything up to this point, but the horror stories I see on the boards make me nervous and Id hate to wear out my good armor on stuff if I should just get a friend and not be so stubborn. thanks mate.
