JTL bringssome convoluted factionchanges to the game. Been trying to figure it out, but have seen contradicting posts.
This is what I would like to know:
Can a covert Imperial become a Privateer (YES), but then later declare himself OVERT in space and then participate in Imperial missions? Participate in faction PvP?
thanks

Ok, I've only been reading up recently, but from my understanding the faction missions in space relate to the profession you are doing (its how you progress)?
So letting you do Imperial missions as a Privateer would be kinda screwy wouldn't it? I can understand doing PvP though, that'd be kinda cool to be a neutral that is sympathetic to one side or the other.

privateers can be overt ONLY if theyre part of either rebel or imperial. if theyre neutral, no pvp for you!

Toran made a pretty good point. Im not sure how anybody who isgoing to be assignedImperial (or Rebel) missions if someone is a Privateer. The missions are more likely to beprofession related then faction related as on the ground.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
The clues are all there, if people look hard enough.

Oh look here is another oh the answer is, wait I cant say.
They have said there will be 2 PVP zones in space, how all of that will work is what we have to figure out. I would say it will be along the lines of Battlefields were, lol if you have been around that long to have tried them back in the day.
But back when they worked, you could be nuetral and enter a BF.
It would just ask you which side you wanted to fight for.
And stick you on that factions side for your stay inside the BF.

This is what I have gotten from the forums.
You can PvP if you are declared when you launch.
You can fight overt imperials in tie-fighers.
You can fight overt imperials in neutral fighters.
You can fight overt rebels in x-wings.
You can fight overt rebels in neutral fighters.
You cannot fight covert imperials in tie-fighter.
You cannot fight covert imperials in neutral fighters.
You cannot fight covert rebels in x-wings.
You cannot fight covert rebels in neutral fighters.
You cannot fight neutral players in either tie-fighter, x-wings or neutral fighters.
As imperial you can choose imperial navy or privateering skill trees.
As rebel you can choose rebel or privaterring skill trees.
As neutral you can choose any skill tree.
But as neutral you can of course not get overt and do PvP.
The type of ship you have is not determening if you can PvP or not.
(You just cannot join rebel fleet if you are imperial and not imperial navy if you are rebel. Covert or not.)
Whatever PvP-zones are these rules will probably be void there.
Not enough info on them.
