Got the EBGames beta disk Monday in the mail (ordered on-line). Installed it but it's not working. Everytime I click on the desktop icon it starts the regular games. The first install totally hosed my SWG install and I had to reinstall everything. I followed the instructions for installation that came with the disc but it's just not working. Also, I went and registered the expansion in-game but JTL doesn't show as a registered expansionm but when I enter the product key at the Station it tells me the product key is already used. And, I can't access the beta forums.
Any idea what's happening here...is the EBGames offer a "scam"?
Any help on the installation?
Thanks

It doesn't show as a registered expansion for anyone right now, you need the product key from the box when jtl goes live.

At least you got your beta disk. I chose in store pick up and my local EB says they still haven't recieved their shipment yet. I am wondering how many of my local EB's employees now have MY disk in their grubby little paws. Not that they would do such a thing....

I ordered from EB Games as well, but had no problems installing it. After the initial install (2.3 gig download) the patch would get stuck once in a while. I would close the launchpad and relaunch it, it picked up from where it let off and took a total of about 90 minutes to patch.
When you said that JTL overwrote your original install, I wonder if you tried to install it into the Star Wars Galaxies folder? The default for the install was a new folder in Program Files called Jump to Lightspeed Beta. If you are able to start this process over, make sure to install into that folder not the one SWG is already in.

To get the speeder, you MUST pre-order from EB or GameStop? You don't get the same perk if you pre-order it via the ingame launchpad?

Feeb, the directions are not all that clear. Here is what you do.
Go into SWEG through your regular icon and log in. Then go to register JTL. I would uninstall JTL and then proceed again and let it do the download (which is huge btw). I had the same problem and it took me a few minutes to figure it out.

A good point, it wants to install to program files\ but my SWG install is in C:\games\Star
wars Galaxies\. So where should I install it to?
