I know it's been asked before, but I have looked around, and I can't seem to find what I am looking for.
Here's the deal:
I've been playing for 2 mounths now. I'm TKM and working on mastering CH. I like the "ground" aspect of the game, and have no desire to do any of the "space combat".
Is there reasons why I should get JTL if I don't want to dogfight with other spacecraft? What would I get from the game if I just like the way the game plays now (ground).
I'm looking for some straight answers instead the "media hype" I read on the official site. Oh, I saw on the login screen that veteren players get a spaceship. Would I qualify onlt playing for 2 months?
Thanks in advance.

im not sure what changes its bringing to the ground game, ppl say there are NONE but how can that be since ithorians are being put in and will require serperate clothing.
qualification to recieve the veteran reward ship is 6 months

It's all about how they're going to handle immersion. Such as transporting passengers and such. I'm sure you could do without taking a ride in a mulit-person from your post, so I don't know, it's all up to you. Ask yourself this, is it worth the extra money to just be able to travel if you aren't going to be flying yourself?

If you don't want to use the JTL content, then don't buy it.

You should, flying is fun. Also, the new content is cool too.

There is about 150 megs of download everybody has to do before JtL launches whether you plan on buying JtL or not. You need this download, for example, to see ithorians and sullustans, even though you won't be able to create those characters yourself without owning JtL among other NDA things. See the dev post on BITS technology.

I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed X-Wing or Tie Fighter.

My advice would be wait and see. This isn't a limited time offer. If after a week you feel like you are missing something go buy it.
Also, it is a relatively small investment. A one time fee for $29. JTL doesn't change your subscription rate. If you are going to be playing the game for a long time, $29 might be worth it to be able to jump into space once a month, or tag a long with groups on their Yacht or YT-1300. Maybe being a pilot isn't your thing, but manning the turrets on a YT-1300 might be a nice change of pace.
If $29 is a big chunk of change to you, you can survive without it.
