Just wanted to know how long do you gotta play to be considered a veteran?
I've been playing for about alittle over 5 months now but on October 27th it'll be 6. Is 5 months enough to be considered a vet? If not will 6 months be enough? And if 6 months is enough to be considered a vet will I become one too late to qualify for one of em yachts?
Them Sorosubs look sweet and I wanna get my hands on one of em

From the way I read it before, it sounded like they said you had to have played for 6 consecutive months before you would get the Sorosuub (this of course means six straight months with no acccount inactive periods in between). And they also said that all people would get this once they reached that 6 months of consecutive playtime, regardless of if the 6 monthsmarkcame after the launch ofJtL. So eventually, anyone who has their account open for 6 months straight should be eligible to get one, providing theyhave the JtL expansion as well.

Yes, its not only for the people who are vets when the expansion releases if you have your account open for 6 months even if it is 6 months after JTL goes live you will still recieve one. I do believe you can have a 2-3 week break in there and still be eligable.

Yeah we get a sorosub but as a vet reward...been playing since July 8th of last year...but what i dont get is that its a nice ship but its not combat ready. Nor will it be. Whats the point of a nice ship if we cant use it on any missions just for planet hopping.

I can think of several uses for it that don't involve combat. SWG is more than just a combat game...BUT, it would be nice if we could customize it and add our weapons systems. Either way, it looks very cool and I'm grateful to get a free ship. I've been on since the last week of June '03 when the game launched. I took a month off in Sept. to move and had no online service. I think I'ld be pretty upset if I didn't get one. I've stuck it out through some of the most frustrating and irritating changes and nearly quit a couple of times, but after I saw the ship, I was pretty pleased. I should get one and there should be no reason why I wouldn't. Thanks to the guy who created it. Looks great! Good Job!

Has anyone else considered the implications of an invulnerable ship?
1) GCW: Everyone will use vet ship for transporting raiding parties since it cannot be intercepted.
This is especially nasty if they ever allow us to land where we want on a planet.
2) Trading: Everyone will use vet ship for transporting cargo since it cannot be incapacitated.
On top of the 'consensual PvP only' in space this is just ludicrous.
If they had ramming damage this would be uber.
I'd really like one of these, but I'd like it to be attackable - ships already cannot be 'destroyed', only returned to your datapad.

Well, if someone's going to complain, I guess it's going to be over afree gift too. Geeze people, don't you ever quit? There are much more important things to complain about in this game than to split hairs over a gift. Dude, a gift's a gift. I love the model. I can't wait to walk around it. When my wife and I married, we took a 7 day Carribean Cruise with Royal Carribean on the Enchantment of the Seas This was a high tech modern cruise ship, and looking at that model really reminds me of my esperiences. I think the guy did a fantastic job on it! It really does emulate a luxury passenger ship.

As for clandestine operations and smuggling being conducted with the ship...SO WHAT?! Who cares?!!! Big deal. Blah, blah, blah. that sort of thing happens. The Soviets invaded Afganistan be sneaking in crach commando units on passenger jets. It's the classic Trojan Horse strategy. As for smuggling, the British used to smuggle in artillery and munitions on medical frigates because they immune to attack in WwII. Dude, that stuff happens. Take advantage of it. I bet you though, because SOMEONE is bound to complain and whine about it, the Dev's will fix something, so it's not possible to land near bases, or cities, or they won't let us land at all, they won't let us carry goods on board etc....all because someone whined. I'll give ya a big hint: Anyone landing a raiding party with one these ships still has to get 'em down the gang plank (if it has one), and you know, that's a fantastic oppurtunity to frag the crap of 'em when they're all bunched up like that. Drive 'em back onto the ship with overwhelming fire: this is called "repelling an attack". The players exiting the ship won't be able to get a clear line of fire and only one or two will be able to shoot at you, while you and the best buds in your guild can fan out and hose them down with burning hell. so anyone taking advantage of the invulnerability of the ship by landing too close to a base or city assuming that will be possible and i really hope it will be, will be making a "tactical error" which you can take advantage of. Who cares if the ship's invulnerable, the players aren't and it will be (should) be a turkey shoot for your fized turrets. Enjoy! I love the ship. I can't wait to see it. For further questions on this scenario, refer to the D-Day landing in WWII.

Yeah, I might have been a little off before on the consecutive playtime thing. For people who took short hiatuses (like the 1-3 weeks mentioned in replies above this one),you will probablystill be eligible for this reward. But for those who took much more extended hiatuses from the game (like the one I took for several months), itwould probably require 6 months of consecutive account activeness from the reactivation time.
