Ive asked and been told JTL offers NOTHING to enhance SWG the core ground game


Is this true?


A minor increase in the econmy from a new profession shipwrights

A minor increase in the entertainer industry from healingBF


Is this it ?


We cant land in player citys ?


We cant land close to a player city in a cargo ship with a group of players to attack their base ?


We cant land a hunting party out in the wilderness ?


Our landed ship cant serve as a mobile field hospital or a cargo vessel to store loot or a minir defensive position?


We cant loot unique weapons armor items/attachments from space pirates or faction NPCs ?



How shortsighted can the Dev team be?


Are these things I mentioned planned?


shouldnt a EXPANSION enhance the core game ?


Sounds like a totaly unrelated game to swg using swg as a selling point while the core game swg has suffered from neglect ?


Please correct me if I am wrong......................please

As far as the landing on planets, that would be real nice. I imagine further down the line they'll incorporate that into the game.

If those are the things you wanted to do, you might be disappointed. Except for the economics of building, buying, and selling ships, and ship equipment,there's very little overlap between JTL and the SWG ground game.


That said, I doubt they'd use SWG as a selling point, since the commonly accepted view is that SWG is dying and JTL needs to "save" it.

You're "expansion" argument is valid, but remember, things like new loot, armour, weapons etc can be added FOR FREE at any point in time using a patch. As for loot from space-bourne enemies,I have heard that there WILL be loot, such as credits, items etc from destroyed ships, that can be "tractored" in.


The only reason that some planets can not be landed at is because the devs only have so much server space, and decided to add some familiar space sectors, but some new ones for variety, such as PvP wildzone and Kessel. It WILL be possible to land on Dathomir and a few other places.


As for adding Atmosphere flight, whichI think is what you ask for:

This is a MASSIVE change to the very physics of the ground game, as everything in the ground game is stuck rigidly to the ground, and anything which "Flies" (butterflies, speeders etc) are actually stuck to the ground, but made to look like they are flying. To add the third free dimension to players would be a new game altogether, one which may be made in the Galaxies series, but not for Empire Divided. This kind of change would costmillions (which means we have to pay more) to implementin an already existing game, would require possible days of downtime, plus a HUGE (Gigabytes) download for those who do not own JTL. Simply impractical.


All in all, we are paying for something completely new, it is an expansion as it 'expands' the gameplay experience for this online world.

Im not asking for atmospheric flight just the oprion to see the planets surface like you do in SWG pick out a spot and land your ship there


Your ship could appear with a animation or just apear like a mission spawn does


I know the flying/fighting above our heads isnt possible due to lag but i dont see how what im mentioning here would be that big of a issue to create


And it would actually HELP SWG and make JTL attractive for a core game player to get as I see it it offers me as a SWG player nothing at all to make my game in swg any better doesnt help the GCW isnt offering any loot or unique items


Just seems to me there is no incentive at all to buy this which is a marketing blunder

Heh, come one now, were you really expecting all of that stuff? Landing out in the middle of no where to hunt? lol, not saying that wouldn't be very cool but honestly, you couldn't actually think that was going to be in? I wasn't even expecting them to take it that far, I was mainly just hoping for some kind of interaction with my ship on the ground in a "landed" state. Think of how Han had the Falcon parked in Eisley, I wanted something like that, where I can at least load supplies and just chill on my ship while it's landed.

Think the devs said you couldn't land anywhere other then starports because of coding problems (camping is bad enough without having people from space landing right next door)

Well the expansion is about SPACE it is making the game more exciting for people that preffer this kind of thing and it will bring more players into the game and maybe some back. this whole expansion revovles around space and thats why its called jump to lightspeed they will make other expansions later about ground n stuff

wanting clothing atachemtns and grounds weapons looted in space is like saying lets make npc's drop ship loot the loot works space= space loot and ground = ground loot were is the problem with that for looting and as for landing anywere all that would do is make it so there was no need to go to a npc city apart from trying to find a doc or a entertainer.
