I saw a picture of the pilot trees and saw no skill point investment requirement.

Thanks In advance,

The pliot trees are on live, just go into the skill section (ctrl-s) and look at them.

All pilot skills require 0 skill points. Mastery doesn't even require apprentice points. All training is done through NPC trainers. The only thing in JTL that requires skill points is Shipwright.

Yeah, they did this so that players wouldn't be forced to choose between their ground professions and playing in space. I think it was a good idea. Forcing players to use skill points to fly ships would be too limiting. If they gave out more skill points, then some players would just forgo piloting and make themselves either way too difficult to beat in ground combat, or a crafter capable of making everything by themself, etc.

Wrong. Pilots use zero skill points at all. Only Shipwright uses skill points since it is a crafting profession and is intergrated within the ground economy. Pilot professions are 100% quest based and rely on no points at all, you learn skills as you climb up the pilot tiers and unlock the ability to train your boxes which use no points. Its that simple.
