I just got certification to fly the Y-Wing, I'm Alliance Pilot 1/1/1/1.
Should I stick with my Z-95 for awhile or upgrade to the Y-Wing?
I have not been back in space since I got Y-W cert, and prior to I was fine
with my little noob fighter and the few little parts that I have put on it.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Now I am a Privateer and our ships are different so this might not be GOOD advice for you. The second I got my Dunelizard cert. I went out and bought a Dunelizard right away. So I hope that helps answer your question.

It depends on the parts you have, if you haven't hit the mass limit on your free ship there isn't a great hurry to get the y-wing. If you have hit the masslimit I'd upgrade right away but then I'm another freelance pilot

Y-wings are like flying an elephant. Stick with the headhunter as long as you can. Reverse Engineering parts are your cert level are gonna yield some really low mass diecent parts anyhow. Just make a point to really look at your space loot before chucking it.

I liked the y-wing, It has over 10X the mass as a Z-95. Get the Y-wing absolutly if you know others that like to fly cause its got a turret another player can shoot for you. When you go to get the y-wing talk to a master shipwright to make you a reg y-wing not a longprobe and full parts loadout for the ship, mass isnt inportant on the ship as you will not even get close to getting it half full masswise even at 2/2/2/2. Alsobring your level 2-3 looted ship parts with you for re'ing.
Y-wing fight tips:
in dog fights run your engines at 75% for good turning if you are flying solo, if you are flying with a gunner go full speed this will slow down but it will give your gunner a better change of hitting.

Thanks for the info, been gone all day.
I have a very limited credit supply and I don't really accept hand outs so I'm rather limited in
my purchasing power. Sorry I should have mentioned that.
Any
hoo how much does getting lvl 2 and 3 parts RE'd cost? Or a new Z-95?
Sorry for being such a noob but any more help would be appreciated.

Don't get the y-wing. Use the z-95 till you get the cert for the longprobe. Then upgrade.
Do drop the z-95 starter ship and get a player built one.

Well, if you are already 1.1.1.1, then you might want to wait and get a Longprobe. Either Y-Wing variant will have an amazingly high mass limit when compared to a Headhunter.
With a Y-Wing you can bring up a gunner and you can use it immediately. One weapon slot is for you as the pilot, the other is for the turret gunner. The pilot can not control the 2nd weapon, so it has only 1 slot if you are flying solo.
With a Longprobe, you get 2 weapon slots, but no turret gunner. Expect a Longprobe to cost about twice as much as a Y-Wing, as it requires twice as many resources to create.
The Longprobe is a better solo ship, as you get twice the available weapon slots, but if you pass on owning a Y-Wing, you will be unable to fly a 2+ player ship until the Nova Courier.
Hope the info helps, but feel free to keep asking questions.
