Everytime I'm about to get blown up I hit the eject button.
Is it worse if you don't?
Personally I thought the point of ejecting was being able to live or survive not find yourself with 200 wounds on everything.

I believe when you eject, you prevent even more damage from your ship, which means you have to pay less for repairs when you and your ship respawns at a space station.
(yay, I think this is my first beneficial post

Yep I agree, but in reality in the game eject is synomus with death. So they treat you as if you died. But the damage and BF is so huge it is like having not only died on the ground, but having been burned and hit repeatedly with strong disease. I really don't understand this one.
If you eject it should be assume you were picked up in space because of some finder signal on you and brought back to the Star port. If you don't eject I can understand the dying part, but still the wounds and BF are way to high.

well I havent found any difference between ejecting and not ejecting. Perahos you may get more wounds if you dont eject?? But the only reason I can see NOT to eject is if you are rebel and can do in flight reapirs or have a rebel friend repair you themself. Meh I tend to use it anyways.

But when you eject, your ship blows up automatically. Um, I accidentally hot-keyed /eject once. It blew up the ship (requiring repairs for it), and gave me all the wounds I would have if I'd been destroyed by another fighter.
Ejecting = 7eh st00pid.

I had tounbind the eject key. I hit the eject button by accident. Seven times. In 2 days.

Gett'n blowed up in space : -100 bf, -100 ham
Ejecting in space : -200 bf, -200 ham
This was brought up in beta, never got a answer, but I agree, it does seem backwards.

Well when I eject I notice when I go back to the space station, it seems to prevent further dmg on your ship like the previous poster said. So yeah I eject when they're no other choice and that it would be less stress on my ship so it won't decay as fast compared to if a ship completely destoryed you.
Also I think it's another way to prevent people from saying griefing in pvp or when they're completely stuck in space and have no other way to get back to the space station or to the ground.

That's just sad.
I'm only gonna eject for sake of fooling myself I didn't die which it should be since all ships have an escape pod or can become one.
