spoke to an npc and he asked me to get something that was stolen...gave me another npc's name...nothing in my datapad...i just say i'll be right back with it

so, how do i locate this other npc?

Open up your datapad, there will be a waypoint in there to your destination. Hold down your cursor and click to activate it. An arrow will point you in the direction you need to go. Best to check on your planetary map after you activate it, as it may be in another city and you may have to travel a long distance, in which case, you would want to take a shuttle.

Ooops, I missed the "there's nothing in my datapad", part. In that case, the mission may be bugged. You can report it in game.

Yes, I had something similar happen to me also. I got a mission from a guy in a tent, who sent me out to the wilds. I did, however, have a waypoint to follow. BUT, when I got to the guy who was standing all alone, with the waypoint stream above him ... he told me something like ... "got to go, got to go". I assumed that was the message to return with, but when I got back to the first guy, I had the same choice to tell him as in the beginning. "I'll be on my way, now" or something like that. The mission was bugged. Sometimes best to get missions from the terminals, IMO

There's a nice and conveniently stickied thread at the top of the BH forum that has a nice big list of informants, trainers and mission terminals. I'd suggest looking there, the position of the tattooine informant is listed there.

Anyone know where a trainer is on NABOO? I cannot find one.. I have searched the guild halls.. etc

The tailor trainer is in Moenia.. if you take the shuttle to the shuttleport, then head to the starport, the trainer is to the left of the large bridge you have to cross on the way.
