Im currently doing a mission for the yavin IV station where im supposed to "dock" with this ship and get these plans. iv tried tons of times but it just tells me "this ship denies your request to dock" ... umm am i doing something wrong here? the mission log says dock with it. if i attack it any more it will blow up, as its done multiple times already

Disable the ship. I like to take out the reactor, some people prefer to target the engines. Either way, disable it first. Next, you have to /inspect the ship to make sure it has what you need. Once you get confirmation on the cargo, you can /dock.
