This is a copy of the letter I just sent to Lucas Arts!

To Whom it May Concern:

I think it is in the best interests of those at Lucas Arts that care about their reputation to look at the abomination that is occurring in Star Wars Galaxies. Ive been playing this game for over 18 months. I was drawn to it as a result of the my enjoyment of the Star Wars movies and this was a gaming chance to make my character a part of the legends.

My character in game became a Jedi after many months of grinding alone apart from my friends in order to achieve this goal. And recently earned the tittle of Jedi Knight with the support of my guild. Not via some of the exploits that have been in the game, but with true group support.

This week SOE released the long awaited Combat Upgrade, and in order to make deadlines, its released in terrible shape with so many bugs and issues that it will take months to resolve.

But the real reason im writing is what they have done to the Jedi in the game. We were over-powered to be sure and needed some over all balance. But now as a result of these changes we are about the weakest elite combat profession in the game.

To add additional insult, veteran players (over 360 days) were awarded an anti-decay kit that prevented weapons of all kinds from suffering from decay. This included lightsabers and the pearls and or crystals inside of them. Now with out advising players in advance, lightsabers can no longer be equiped with these kits. This is intended and not as a result of the numerous bugs noted above. To further complicate matters, those players who did not heed the advise of the Jedi corospondent(wise advise given SOE's history)and destroy their pre-cu sabers to retrieve their kits, still have sabers that do not decay! This is far from equitiable.

Those of us who have spent close to a year developing their Jedi character have been discriminated against by SOE and all our concerns largely disregarded.

This game is tied in with Lucas Arts and when the gaming community and associated publications see whats been done to this game, the reputation that Lucas Arts once enjoyed will be severly damaged.

If some level of fair play isnt announced and restored to SWG in short order, I can assure you that I and many others like me will assume that whats been done has been with Lucas Arts blessing. I will never support any game with either tag associated with it again.

I just cant believe that this organization would allow and or support whats been done to SWG.
