In the overview of the Tie Advanced, there is a historical note:
"With Darth Vader at the controls, the TIE Advanced is a devastating starfighter. While piloting the prototype, Vader very nearly thwarted the Rebel Alliance's attempt to destroy the Death Star. Only the last-minute arrival of Han Solo and the Millinneium Falcon prevented the Sith Lord from firing on Luke Skywalker's X-wing. After being clipped by the Falcon's quad laser cannons, the prototype spun into space."
Let the truth be told. The Tie Advanced that Darth Vader was piloting was not shot by the Falcon's quad laser. According to the Holonet broadcast seconds before the transmission was lost, Han Solo shot one of the Tie fighters covering wingman for Darth Vader. After the first Tie fighter blew up, the second Tie fighter pilot covering wingman for Darth Vader lost control of his Tie Fighter. The Tie pilot bounced offthe side wall of the Death Star and slamed into Darth Vader's Tie advanced. The Tie advanced was knocked off course and flung into deep space. Darth Vader beign the master Sith Lord would have never alloweda luck pock shot from a smuggler to hit him.
