If we buy JTLS do we need the installation CD? or just the cd key will do if we're beta testers?

You will need to buy the JTL CD. If you just needed the Beta CD key, then SOE isn't making profit from the hundreds of people in Beta.

Yeah you need CD's. The retail version and beta will be different and the CD will have the changes, plus you need a CD-key to even play JTL so you'll need a CD. I wish more companies adpoted the whole preload system like Valve does for its games. You simply buy the game online and you download it to your system. They are doing this with Half Life 2. You and pre-load the entire game but it wont be able to activate till you type in an activation code that unlocks the game. This call all be done from the comfort of your chair and you never have to deal with pre-orders and stores running out of copies. But not all publishers adopt this kind of service and its kinda sad. With the evolution of technology you'd think they'd make some things a bit easier for us. SOE could have made JTL purely a downloadble expansion, thats how people who got beta invites got the game. It was in thier power but hey, they like for us to have to go and buy disc i guess. Sigh.

I got no qualms with not leaving my house to get a game but i really don't like to waste 7-10 hours downloading a 1.5GB file on DSL. Imagine if you had to download for example Unreal Tournament 2004, it came on SIX cd's with cd's holding about 700 megs of data that's around 3.6 GB. Even though cable and dsl are widely available alot of people still do not have high speed access.
