I just don't know whether to rant or cry...

I love Star Wars. I love MMORPG. So when I heard about Star Wars Galaxies it was like a dream come true. I followed the game throughout it's development and ate up every little piece of information I heard about it. Thanks to a 56k modem and crappy graphic card I didn't actually purchase the game until two months ago. I bought a whole new system, shelled out for a cable modem, and bought the game. I had heard bad things about it... but I was fired up. I thought to myself, "Hey, it's Star Wars! I can make something out of this." Keep in mind that I've bought just about every SW game on the market. I've been playing SW RPGs for nearly eight years. So I thought, I can make this work.

I really did enjoy the game for the first few weeks. I didn't bother grinding, just took my time and enjoyed the game. A few weeks ago Rome:Total War came out and I took a little time off in order to play through that game. On Sunday I was sitting in bed and suddenly remembered that Jump to Lightspeed was coming out soon! I went to the computer, looked up the game, and spent the rest of the day playing SWG. I remembered how fun it was and just had a great time. Then the lag came...

I can stand a little lag, but just a little. Considering I can't hold a connection for more than five minutes and those five minutes are totally unplayable due to lag, I think I have a right to be slightly upset. I know (simply by looking at the forums) that many people are suffering this exact same problem. All it would take is a simple post of "We acknowledge the problem and will have it fixed by..." and I would totally understand. But there is nothing, silence. I read JustG's dev notes which said there was some lag and it would be fixed by tomorrow... well tomorrow is now today and the lag is just as bad.

In my time on World War II Online, I became used to patches actually "helping" a game, not hurting it. Ok, I can't stand it anymore... avert your ears... rant coming!!!

FIX THE G'DARN LAG!!! I CANNOT AFFORD $15 A MONTH FOR A GAME THAT I CAN'T PLAY. I LIKE SWG, I WANT TO PLAY IT, BUT I CAN'T!!!

Alright, I think it's past. When I get JTL tomorrow it better work and it better be fun and not long after the ground game better not lag... I don't think that it's too much to ask for that a game you pay for be stable and fun. Help us George Lucas, you're our only hopebiwan:
