How many people can confirm or deny this so that the rest of the UK population here can try and sort something out with their local store?

Confirm or deny what?
If you are referring to the release date on their website, that probably hasn't been updated yet. If Activision aren't going to ship them, they can't be sold. And lets face it, why would HMV do something that might incur recriminations for the sake of JTL?
Unless you have ordered from a US based company, don't expect JTL until the 5th.

I'm talking about the rumor that it is down to Activision putting out a press release to hold back on JtL sales. HMV may be choosing to ignore this and selling it on the 29th anyway.
I kinda would like to know how many people can confirm this

It would be hard to tell, I'd recommend going to your local store and asking someone who knows what they are talking about(ie not some silly townie hehe).
I know I will be.

maybe they havn't updated it because they have seen responses of Cancelations when other sites have updated

On other threads people have been talking to store staff who have informed them that they have the JTL CDs but are not being allowed to sell till Nov 5th..........apparently some HMV stores are going to ignore this and sell it anyway which I think is what this thread was trying to confirm.

If so, good luck to everyone who tries. Personally I don't see it happening as HMV would hardly want to piss off Activision by ignoring their instructions to find they will no longer be able to stock Activision titles (i.e. GTA:SA). The best chance of getting a copy from HMV is if you know a member of their staff who will sell it to you.....(also assumes they have the stock!)

hmm is there any reason HMV would say they have the CD's evan if they don't? oh yeah to get people to buy there
