Does anybody actually know for 100% certain what the state of play with this release is?

There are messages saying "don't activate your code before the 26th or it'll cause problems".

There are messages saying "don't activate your code on the 26th, wait until the 27th".

There are users who have pre-ordered, only for their online stores (usually reliable) to not deliver.

Other users have pre-ordered and got the game.

Some folks have gone to what used to be called a "store" but can they find it.

Europeans meanwhile are told at the last minute they have a longer wait. Or rather the UK is told that. The rest of Europe is told nothing.

This has nothing to do with the devs. This is a publishing and distribution issue. But most of all it is an issue to do with some of the worst corporate communication I've seen from a games company.

To put it plainly SOE and Activison can not organise a piss up in a brewery.

While the devs aren't responsable, they are the ones who write the announcements....

And you may havenoticed that TH has just changed the announcement from UK to Europe in response to all these posts.

First off sony shipped early not just to the retailers but to the consumers. 99 percent of the retailers however will not release a product before it's release date for fear of infringement and tremendous fines.Those folks who got their CD's last night bought them directly from the manufacturer that's why they have em. The "Official" release date however IS the 27th. and here is where I agree with you. They should either come out and say it's ok to play today the 26th or it's not ok to play until the 27th and stop waning back and forth. Had I been intelligent enough to realize I would have gotten a product faster from the manufacturer I would probably order that way next time and be playing right now and possibly screwing up my account for tomorrow who knows.

Shipping the game early isn't really mis information on their part, the manufacturers "Claiming" they don't have them in stock is just how EB and Gamestop work.

However they should be clear and concise about when it is OK to login and go live, and yea I've seen tiggs posts saying it's ok at the same time however the news page which was edited AFTER tiggs made these statements seem to suggest it's not but who knows, I'm sure if any of the accounts get ganked CSR will work with you to repair the problem, I seriously doubt they'll say ohhhhh you were naughtyyyyy you logged in early you have to go buy a new copy.
