Is it possible to purchase JTL over the net and dl it? I don't want to wait the 3-5 weeks it takes for stuff to get released where I live.

I have seen it done with some games, and was wondering if it is possible with JTL.

Thanks

Well people are downloading it and buying the cd-key HOWEVER according to planet chat on Chimaera (Tatooine) it breaks the rules of the contract everyone signs when they click "i accept" and SOE are going to clamp down on it. Just order it from www.gamestop.com thats what I've done, annoyed with all the UK delays

Yes, you can buy it over the net, it's exactly what I and many people did at the end of last week.

The CD-key is all you need to actually have from the retail box. The launchpad will automaticallydownload the 600MB (?) or so required to play JTL when you register the CD-key, if you haven't already installed from the CD-ROM. If you have broadband, then buy from interactcd.com or dlgamer.com and they will email you the key. If you want the box, or are on dialup, then import the CD from gamestop or outpost.com and it should take only a few days to be shipped to you.

I can't see how this breaks the EULA. All the EULAsays is "To play the Game, you must ..purchase the Software" and Software is defined as the CD-ROM.When you purchase the game from interactcd.com for example, you still buy the CD and box, they just won't send it to you. So in my opinion, the EULA terms are not broken.

Personally I think SoE have been a bit silly because, if they offered an online download service for JTL they could totally cut out the distributors and production costs and make more money from JTL sales in both the USA and Europe, although I appreciate there are probably distribution deals in place which stop them doing that. What I can see happening is Activision putting pressure on SoE/Lucasarts to stop people using USA expansions on European game installs .. but no idea how that could ever possibly work!
