There is a problem with the spawn rates. The waves are spawning WAY to close together. I am fighting 8-12 fighters at once. PLease fix this because as it is this mission is nearly impossiable because you also have to stay within 1200 meters or else you fail because the freighter says you arent escorting it. All I wanted was a TIE interceptor

I believe the intention was to form squads and run the missions...?

you can try to go for the whole "multiplayer" aspect in this MMORPG. Better you learn that you can't solo everything now then later...
it's an easy enough mission to do with about 6-10 people of about the same skill level.

Its not too bad with about 5 people. I think its stupid that you HAVE to do the mission to recieve training.

I did it with 2 friends. Not reccomended as a solo, unless you're the ultimate flight-sim god.

I completed this solo, took me a couple tries though. 
Trick to winning solo is do not kill the fighers, only disable the engines. Also remember that the frieghter is able to take a lot of hits, while the enemies are focusing on freighter, mop em up. Also remember apply use of hyper-space from endor to endor (as long as you stay within same planet, mission will not reset) to get away and recharge shields. Also this is very important, disable the b-wings and y-wings first, since they are slow and easy to hit, but they have the strongest attack.Disable the A-wings last, they take the longest because they are so fast, but their weapons are weak.

me and a friend did our missions at the same time together pretty easly, the hardest part when you hade to take out the Awings that were guarding in the 2nd part

I done It effortlessly with 6 TIE Fighters 
apart from when they all kept destroying that A-wing lieutenant or what ever its called

i seriously doubt u finished this solo the tier 4 A wings would have ripped u apart i dont care what games u have played those are way too fast for u to be killing

its the tactics i use when i'm just flying around. i always do missions in groups, i like fighting with people arnd yelling at them over vent. the mission is DOABLE solo. but it is hella hard and most people will get torn to shreds in seconds (do remember that the hardest part about the a-wings is that they are faster than you...)

Managed up to the part with the 4 tier 4 pirates solo... Damn... Pain....
