they don't appear on the bazzaar, neither do they have an obvious category to look under
and do i have to have ROTW to mine space mins?

Not sure about tractor beams but you don't really need it for space mining. Mining lasers do appear inbazzaar, and they're under ship componet/weapons.

if i don't use a tractor beam then how would i collect the chunks?
