to craft a ship you only need resorses.

when going to the starship terminal, you will need to press the manage ship butten. there you can add crafted or looted components.

the primary componints are reactor and engine

the primary battle components are the arnor, shields, and blasters

the other posibal components are missle louncher, counter mesiers, droid enterface, and boosters.

other info

in the ´ship management screen you can add missle and counter ammo, the droid has no mass, but the interface does. there are 3 difrant blastes. the nerml blasters, the ion cannon that does more damage to shields, and desrupters, that does mor damage to armor.

Use your starter ship to do the first few missions and loot the parts. Trust me, you don't want crafted parts for the first four level components. Once you see in your inventory that you have everything you need, go to the ground and add all your parts to the chassis.

To create ships do the following:

1. Collect resources (lots of em)

2. Craft ship blueprint of your choice (if you want to use this yourself, you need to be certified in whatever ship blueprint you create.)

3. Go to starport and talk to the ship broker and pay a fee to have the chasis created.

4. Open your inventory and generate ship from the deed.

5. Open starship terminal and theres your ship ready for the next step.

To ready your ship for flight:

1. Load a reactor

2. Load an engine

this will get you flying, if you want to kill things the following is also needs to be added to the ship

1. load weapons to either primary or secondary weapon slot.

2. And most importantly Your weapon will not work unless you have a weapons capacitor loaded.

then your ready to go out and start blastin.

I hate ship building, so I think I'm just going to buy them off of shipwrights.

Step 1 - Acquire the parts: You need a Chassis (certified by the C-x-x-x column of pilot profession) and several components (certified by the x-C-x-x column). You must have a reactor and engine or the ship will not launch. You almost certainly want a projectile weapon (disruptor, blaster, ion cannon) and a shield system. Armor (2 pieces), booster, droid interface, missiles and countermeasure systems are optional. You can either loot these components or get them from a Shipwright. Chassis can't be looted. Note that the total mass of all components must be less than the mass rating of the chassis. Also, the total energy of all components must be less than the energy generation rate of your reactor.

Step2 - Go to the Chassis Broker in major starports (i.e. not Dantooine or Lok or Yavin) and pay him to turn your blueprints into a ship. Go into your inventory and use the radial menu to put the ship in your datapad.

Step 3 - Go to the starship terminal. The new ship will show up as "No Reactor", select this ship and then use the Manage option to enter the component screen. Load the ship up with the components you acquired for it. Close the component window.

Step 4 - Use the starship terminal to launch.

Should be inside the starport somewhere.

If I remember right, he was in the hallway right in front of the hangar.

He is inside the starpore oppisite the ticket terminals. The Shipwright trainer is the one in the entrance to the starport.
