[ feel free to add your own ideas also ].

[ edited ] No Harvestors.

We'll blowing things up in space is great and all, but im really looking forward to seeing other things to do up there but fall asleep in a yacht. I would like to see Ships that can only mine in space being brought into JTL. Possibly 3 different class types, of course "Small" "medium" and "large" .

I'm not looking at the YT-2400 as one of these ships, i would really like ot see big ole ships which only serve the purpose of mining possibly in Astroid fields or Astroids in general. Also /would be nice to travel into a Nebula and mine there as well.

Small ships - Low level areas

Medium Ships - Medium Level areas

Large Ships - High Level areas

[ of course. The medium ship can go into the Low level area , which also means the Heavy Large ship, can go into anything. Even though this sounds sorta awkward and pointless, everything in this game is based on skill, which means you would most likely have to build your way up to even use the Medium or heavy ship in the first place. So now you have your medium ship, it doesnt mean you neccisarily have to mine in the Medium zone, there may be more of something you want in the Low Zone you couldnt mine before. Now you have a reason and credibility to go do what you couldnt with a lower level ship in a lower zone]

[ Also, Having the Heavy Mining ship would allow you to stay in one Area or Zone longer, since you conviently have more Cargo space to actually hold the resources. Maybe you just want some grinding resources as well, we'll now instead of only mining 25k with the Light Duty cargo ship, you can now obviously host more resources in the Low level zone where you couldnt before hand. The Heavy Cargo ship can now also effectivly handle cutting down the resources in the zone much faster.]

Adding also not only new ships, but new parts to be made by Shipwrights. Such as "mining lasers" and some sort of turrets to break down the astroids. [note: these can not be used in combat] Capacitors could play a nice role on how long your cutting laser lasts also. Engines of course dont need to be the best as well as Boosters unless you need to get out of the system in a hurry, escaping death from enemies.

I would like to see these lasers actually visually cut down the astroids, amounts of resources looted in a way into your inventory.

The risk's of mining in space would be the same as the ground mind you, i would like ot see all these ships be attackable while your mining, by making it a risk you challenge yourself to go out without defenses and going after the gold.

It's also common sense that each level ship could only carry the amount of the Small, medium or Large ship.

Example: Small ship can carry about 25k of resources.

Medium - 50k resources

Large - 100k

Those are just some idea's that rolled through my head. Hope you like them and can contribute your own ideas.

Thanks

p.s i would also like the "lightspeed" jump to have more of a feeling to it. it doesnt seem to have the feeling you get when you watch the movies. And also, if your going to have to wait a certain amount of time to actually jump, dont let the ships hault in space, and dont let the enemy A.I be able to jump right to your location. Since you cannot do the same. thanks

How about you use harvestor but you have to deploy them onto an asteroid and after all the recourses are collected the asteroid gets destroyed (another respawns) and you get an email saying that you have to retrive your harvestor and it gives you a wp, and it isnt attackble. But still ***** for you for a great idea.

I like the concept of mining SHIPS in space. I do not like the idea of placing harvestors in space. Mining ships would have to be manned and would only be there for short periods of time before moving on. Harvestors would just spawn a lot of additional items in space (harvestors) that would go unmanned for days at a time (if implemented like on the ground). Ships yes, harvestors no.

Have a nice day!

thanks for the compliments and stars, but see my problem is i always just place harvestors everywhere on the ground. I rather do something interactive while harvesting resources, other than actually using harvestors. I want something interesting and interactive, visual eye candy if you will. Something where i can just listen to my MP3's and sit back and just mine. During the process having to switch carefully maybe from one cutting laser to the next. Making sure you dont completely obliterate the astroid before taking as much of the resources as you can.

think of this process like you are fishing. Pull to tightly with your pole and the string will snap. stuff like that

They could make some rare resources spawn in Deep Space, Kessel or other dangerous areas, making it nessecary for Mining ships to hire escorts, or maybe fit some limited weaponary onto the hull.

dammit! alright! you forced me to sign, cuz it sounds like a great idea...

With a MP ship with 5,000,000 mass, maybe these mining packages can finnaly fill up oine of these ships! I'd like to see other load packages to use in these huge MP ships...sorta like droid components, but on a large scale and modular.
