Thread: Dev's: Are Droid Programs on your to do list?

We need to have the droid programs fixed.

Weapon Overload 3 gives a huge boost in damage and then takes less cap to fire...
Weapon Overload 4 just disables half the ship and seems to reduce damage for an absurd cap cost per shot.

These are the ones I'm most familiar with but if one is broken I'm sure more are as well.

Are the dev's aware of these issues and working on them?

Also, would it be possible to have the new values updated on our components list when you turn on a droid program? IE, if I turn on Engine Overload 3 I should then see adjusted stats in red or yellow or something, indicating what the droid program did.

Bump, anyone seen any mention of this on known issues or to be fixed lists.

"Weapon Overload 4 just disables half the ship"

It just increases the amount if energy the components need, so with a better reactor you won't get disabled.

Wpn overload 4 when activated knocks out half the systems on my ship, but at least one gun will fire and it definitely does not do more damage yet takes 10x more capacitor juice to fire.

Something is very wrong with that droid program I think.

Wpn overload 3 gives a huge bonus to firepower and takes less capacitor to fire.

Is anyone able to use wpn overload 4? IE plenty of extra reator power and it works fine? Far as I can tell even if you had enough power to use it without disabling systems the blasters would still be worthless with it on.

If you read the in development posts by the devs over the last week or so, you'll see that there is no mention of JTL in any of them.

Although some of us are REALLY into JTL and notice every little thing wrong, realistically theres nothing "game breaking" wrong with JTL at the moment. So i doubt they'll give JTL any sizeable amount of attention until after the combat revamp.

Get a freelance pilot to trade you the chips with reactor overload 4 and cap overload 4 and while your on it ask him for cap to shield shunt 3 (better not 4 as it transfers all your cap power to the shields). Just be sure to trigger the reactor overload first or if you are unlucky your droid interface gets disabled and you can not start any other programs

And yeah those 2 you mentioned seem to be broken.

I believe Weapon Overload 4 works, but only if you have an uber reactor. When activated, it causes each gun to draw 10x as much reactor energy and 10x as much capacitor energy. The damage bonus, I believe, is 150%. The reason it doesn't appear to work for most people is because they don't have enough power to run it. If you don't have enough reactor energy when you try to run it, it will disable some systems. Also, the reason why it sometimes doesn't appear to be doing any extra damage is because of the way guns work when there's low reactor energy. Guns don't automatically disable when they don't have enough power, instead, if they are only a little short on power, they will still fire, but they will have a damage reduction mod applied. It may have been removed, but you used to be able to see this by opening up the component window and looking at your gun's stats.
