Turret control device for pilots: Will lock turrets (YT, Nova, Deci) in a forward position for the pilot to fire when he/she has no other crew on board.

Electronic Countermeasures (ECM): When loaded on a ship, it will notify the pilot when they are being targeted. It will also have a function that will allow it to send a quick EMP out from the ship, disrupting enemy targeting computers and breaking target lock for a short time. This function requires a few minutes to charge back up before being used again.

Ok, the science behind it is probably wack, but I really want to see more electronic warfare in JTL.

Just came up with another idea in another thread...

Auxilliary Missile Magazine: Can hold 3 extra missile packs at level 6 that can be automatically loaded into empty missile tubes in space. The amount of mass and energy required for the magazine is based on its size.

Haven't flown much have you? both of these are in the game. Countermeasures block missile fire quite well, and IFF scramble is a special for Rebel and Neutral pilots.

I like to have whatever all the npc's have that keeps knocking my targetted component focus away =P

its a pain in the neck sometimes when you're looking at the corner of your screen, seeing that you're targetting the reactor or whatever, and when you fire on it for awhile, and look back up, you see your focus has been knocked off.. sometimes it does that ALOT..

this is especially painful around Tier 5 Aggressors when targetting Weapons 1 keeps turning off

I'm a 3/4/4/4 rebel pilot, actually. Yes, I know countermeasures attempt to lure missiles away, and I definitely know the IFF Scrambler ability causes enemy ships to briefly stop attacking. What I was suggesting, as opposed to the things, was a component that didn't require ammo, and wasn't a special ability for only one faction. Anyone could use it; and it wouldn't cause enemies to stop attacking you, or cause missiles already in flight to miss you. It would only cause other ships to be unable to target you for a brief amount of time. You know, those bracket things around the other ship, with the lead reticule in front? Surely you've flown a bit.

The ships are not manuverable enough tohave to worry about pilots treating themlike massive fighters but it would allow you to be a little safer whensmuggling running a delivery mission. After all you can't always find a group of three to six when you get the urge to take your toy out of the hangar.

I was thinking droids, that use the same targeting ai as the npc ships with turrents, give us a little equal footing with our enemy's. Not just locked forward, but fully operational. And of course if your turrent gets taken out your droid receives damage (no I am not a Droid Eng., but I luv all my crafters).

Oh god yes! Though this should be standard on un-crewed MP ships. If there isn't a crew, turrets should fire forward.

Glad to see so many like this idea. The original idea (of an extra device) isn't my own, so whoever it was please step forward. I support it and have re-mentioned it as I thought it was the best compromise on the issue of pilot-controlled guns for MP ships.
