Well I think they want people to play out multiple tracks, and pilot professions. Once you master a pilot profession you are suppost to get XP twice as fast so you can master and get differnt badges. I noticed they gave each track a certain name so I'm sure that is another factor in why.

So if your a hardcore Rebel or Imperial and have been master for a while there is no reason for you not to go Neutral and you could try out those ships and switch back if your not a fan, but you also get to use the droid commands from the previous profession, another bonus.

yea. that was a question of much debate in beta. lots of people think that all ships should be availiable to everyone because thats the way it is in the books and movies. there are petitions to sign and maybe eventually the pressure will make them change the system. they should at least change the yt-1300 to all. its just mean to take this away from evrybody. its the coolest freakin ship ever. i guess soe thinks that boba fett is more popular than han.

They're not going to change it guys. As much as I argued for this in beta (as well as forward firing turrets on the YT for the pilot only) they're simply not going with it. Each faction has it's own ship and I must say, the decimator is pretty nice. You Imperial pilots will forget all about the YT when you start flying one of those, I promise.

I assume (we all know what happens when you assume though), the reason that the KSE Firespray is available to all is that it is a loot based schematic.

The reason that the YT-1300 is not available to all is that every pilot treegets there own Multi-player ship.

Also, Han Solo under this system would have been declared on the ground as Rebel and a Freelance Ace.

so a han would of been a frelance working under the rebellion

Well, here's the thing. The Firespray wasa Privateer special craft until pretty late in beta. Even on the official JTL website where the pics of the ships are the Firespray is a Special Privateer craft. A LOT of people wanted the YT1300 and the Firespray to be available to everyone, but, as you pointed out, each Pilot prof gets light fighters, hvy fighters/bombers and a multiplayer ship that sets them a part from the other factions. So a particulary dev got the idea to make the Firespray available to everyone, but you had to get the schematic parts.

However, at tier4/5 all factions used to get certed for the highest level fighter and hvy fighter/bomber in their faction - but for Privateer, that ship was the Firespray, so now Privateers are short one craft, IMHO.

OK, but the privateer gets twice as many ship (w/ varients) as the other professions. Plus, the profile for the Firespray is all wrong for any REAL combat, the hitbox is monstrous and it really isn't that much of a good handler anyways from everything I have heard. I wouldn't want one in any way, shape, or form.

I believe that the only use you'll see for them is Bounty Hunters pretending to be Fett-like and the few people that will roleplay their original design intent of being patrol craft and that's about it.

There would be absolutley no incentive to be a Privateer if the Yt-1300 was made a multi-profession ship. Neutrals can be Rebel or Imperial pilot and the only thing keeping the Privateer profession together is the YT-1300 and the roleplay aspect of being able to pvp on both sides.
