Thread: Returning player opinion: New Server desperately needed

The fact that within 4 hours of server up there were master shipwrights just speaks wonders for the need of new servers.

All the current servers are bloated, overstocked with resources and credits.

As a returning player, thinking to try out SWG again, its kinda depressing to know how far you are out of the loop because you do not have 5.65 MILLION resources to do the instant grind to Shipwright master, or any other profession, or where someone giving you10000 credits as a tip is a normal thing because of the low value.

I think Sony would have alot more truly new players, and returning old ones, if they consolidated some servers and brought up new clean ones.

Another issue that I see is just the grind itself. Is it really necessary? IMHO, low to mid level crafters are not able to turn out a good product. Why have those crafters when you have to grind to a master profession to turn a decent product out there. It's so pointless to do so except to spend more time, resources, and money to get to that point.

Hmmmm. So people who have stuck with the game and have accumulated resources and money are bad?

It is going to be a major convience to find a Master shipwright right away. Not to mention that those resources are now gone from the economy (assuming practice mode).

I should also mention that a low to mid level shipwright can sell chassis because experimentation and resource quality has very little effect on chassis stats.

If you one-star me have the balls to post a response.

This is a common complaint but I've found that new players who guild themselves are usually showered with freebies from veteran guildies. In my guild I know we set up new players with houses, vehicles, armor, weapons, food and some walking-around money. There are some players who are greedy and don't do this, but I think you'll find that starting as a new player is much easier now than it was just 6 months ago. There's plenty of tips for completing missions, and crafters can grind faster now since a lot of the mystery has been taken out of the process. I ground Armorsmith in about a week and a half with guild help. Overall,I don't see this as a problem as much as a natural progression of a persistent world. Inflation is realistic. Product competion and demand is realistic. I think the game is just growing like a real society would.

Plus I'm really glad there will be a more than a few master shipwrights right away since I plan to buy a ship fairly soon and I'd like to avoid price-gouging.

Well i havent got home yet to quick grind my character in SW, but i am mostly grinding for my guild and there ships. My guild has been so nice to help me gather all the material i need(and a good start for the second guildie grinding SW). Any one can grind SW and can spout off that they can sell the best ships, but there are few ppl like me that want thebest for there guild and will get the help of the guild to make it so. I will sell some ships and parts, but im not going to go crazy like some.

We will see alot of SW crashing in a few weeks for the lack of material it will take to get some of the very good material, but we will really see the bad ships right now due to ppl waning to sell there quick grinded ships and parts. So to anyone buying a ship and parts, be very carful and look at the stats and be expected to pay a high price for really good parts.
