Ok, let start with a positive here. I was in Beta for JTL and loved it! Was so disappointed when JTL Beta closed down but was so excited that the JTL was coming soon. I had pre-ordered my copy over a month ago from one of the local EB Games stores and knew I would be up and playing JTL again sometime today.
Well.....I called the EB store and the guy there tells me the UPS delivery is running late. He expected it in at any time. Ok, I can buy that. So, my wife and I have to run some errands anyway so we decide to swing by the local eatery near the EB store. As we are seating there enjoying our lunch I happen to notice a UPS guy pushing a big cart with lots of cartons. "Great!", I think to myself. Now I just haveto walk over and pick up my copy of JTL.My wife and Itakeour time finishing lunch walk over to the EB store. We walk in and I ask the guy at the counter who is unpacking a bunchof PS2 games if JTL came in andthat I have a pre-order. He replies, "For some reason we didn't get it in today". My heart sank!He then goes on to say that the other EB store in town did not get there's either. Not encouraging. He then asksme for my name and he double checks that he has my information. He does so now what. He overs no answers!
At this point I am a little more then disappointed. I tell my wife that we are going to go make a swing by the local GameSpot store and see if they got any pre-orders in today. As we walk in the store there are about a half dozen reserved copies on the counter. Now I am hot! Why the heck did GameSpot get there JTL pre-orders and the EB store did not?
At this point (after I get my copies,pre-ordered two) I do not plan to do any more business with EB Games, store or online. In the past I have always gone with GameSpot but decided to try EB to see how reliable they were. Obviously, not very.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent my frustrations. Hope to see you in JTL soon!

It all comes down to distribution. It's not really GameStop's or SOE's fault. It's the distribution company(in this case UPS) that the companies use. I see this a lot with video games especially.
When Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction came out, me and my friends were at the EB store when it opened. They said the UPS truck called, they were behind and should be there by noon. Noon came and no truck. The store was helpless. What could they do? So we decided to drive around and look for this UPS truck. About a mile away we see a UPS truck on the side of the road. We pull over and approach the driver, asking if he knew about the games. He looked on his sheet and saw an EB delivery down the list (waaaaay down). We "made" him search the truck just to be sure he had them. (actually he was being nice and did us a favor. He didn't have to do anything for us) He did, and agreed to bump the delivery up to his next one and deliver the games. People sometimes get upset at SOE or these stores, when really it's a distributor issue.

You are right. I was just use to a string of "on time" releases since I normally do business through Gamespot. Also, Gamespot was usually very good about letting me know where my order was at. EB didn't seem to have that kind of information.
By-the-way, I didn't get a "pre-order code" for my Flash speeder. The guy at the store says that they normally come in a pre-order box and their store didn't get any. I hadn't heard that but I took him at his word. He says he was unaware of any problems with people getting their speeders (right!) but that I should call back tomorrow if I have any problems. As far as the speeder thing is concerned it was the worst concieved (in execution) idea of SWG-JTL. Anyone else have this problem?

More craziness for you:
Within 2.5 miles of my work place there are an EB Games, a Best Buy, a CompUSA, a WalMart and 3 - count them, 3 - Gamestops. As of 1 pm this afternoon, only one of the Gamespots had any JtL at all, all of the other stores were "waiting for it to be delivered sometime today". Not sure why only 1-of-3 Gamespots had it, either.
