I may be wrong but do you need an empty lot in order to be able to open up your Vetarn reward Yatch?

I tried to access it but it says I need a lot. If this is true the question here is, why? What does the ground have to do with space?

Now I have to empty out a house to access this ship? It's more then ridiculous if it's true.

Can anyone comfirm this?

Yes the veteran yacht as well as the other POB ships (YT-1300, YKL-37r & VT49) all have decoratable interiors and for each one you have in your datapad fromyour allowed ships it costs a lot (such that if you have both the Veteran reward and the YT-1300 ships you can have them both, and they can both be decorated or used for storage, but will both take a lot).

Just my thoughts, do with them what you will.
