Well, they prominently feature "expansion one" all over the box for JTL, which makes me think there's an expansion two in the planning stages at least. When do you think it will be announced and what do you think it will feature?

Personally, I think they'll wait until the initial sales come in for JTL to see if another expansion is warranted. This should take less than a month. I think the second expansion with move the timeline to ESB. They carefully left out all the ESB worlds from the initial release: Hoth, Dagobah, and Cloud City. I bet at least two of these will show up in the second expansion, along with weapons added to player vehicles (which has been mentioned by the Devs as coming in the future), and of course player controlled AT-ATs.

Ok, the AT-ATs may be wishful thinking, but I bet they have an instanced Hoth battle recreating the infamous ESB attack on the rebel base much like the correllian corvette, where there will be multiple missions for Rebels, Imps, and Neutrals to complete as the battle rages around us.

Anyway, these are my thoughts. What do you guys think???

I think you're fairly right on. I'm expecting new planets and space zones. Plus more of what you'd expect: new quests, new armor (badly needed), new species (maybe). Plus I think you'll see a revamp on PvP for the ground game. I think they'll expand player city options with things like walls and gates and create new upgrades for faction bases. I also foresee some new professions. I thought they may add player capital ships to JTL, though with what I've seen of the game so far, I dont think that will happen.

I suspect a revamp of some of the "quest gear" like mando armor or jet packs. I think you'll see professions like Smuggler and Bounty Hunter expanded to have their own unique quest systems to let players enhance themselves beyond master.

I also see a big Jedi patch that creates new jedi locations and quests to make the FRS more livable. But who knows really? There may not be a second expansion.

Do expansions usually require earlyer expansions to be installed?

If you don't buy JYL, do you think you will need JTL for the next expansion?

Usually they don't, but it may in the future to get access to some of the new stuff if any of it is space-based. The thing about JTL is that it is intrinsic to the whole game, being able to go into space that is, and IMO should have been part of the original release. Obviously they went a different way, so to answer your question your guess is as good as mine

Sometimes you need earlier expansions sometimes not. Really depends since it is usually safe to assume you have to have all previous. Since each expansion tends to have hooks into the previous expansions.

This may be an excpetion since their is a hard dividing line between the two games. Land and Space.

It all depends on what SOE is going to require if you have to have the JTL expansion pack or not. I would think you might have to if the next expansion uses or relys on anything in JTL.

I for one, can't wait to leave work & get my grubby little paws on JTL. I had been in beta & was tinkering with a SW/Pilot/DE template, though I didn't get past Tier 1 of Pilot, so I couldn't use my astromechs. Should be fun though tonight.
