and they are saying could well be nov 12th, they will not confirm nov 5th

i can not believe soe are treating the rest of the world this way, they should of made this expansion downlaodable from 1st day of release, who ever runs the department for release dates and marketing needs to be fired and kicked to the gutter.

My supplier emailed me earlier today to say their release date is the 12th Nov. This is really very dissapointing. It wouldnt be so bad if someone actually gave us a reason for the delay here in the UK. All we are told is the date has changed!! But why??

Last I heard it was the 19th. Don't bother to wait vist www.interactcd.com or www.dlgamer.com and just buy a cd key its ALL you NEED. Its aslo cheaper than the game will be here. Boycott activision.

you can down load it

infact if you go and buy the cd-key online its emailed to you within 15 mins or so.

once you activate it auto downloads if you havent alrdy installed from disk .

i fear activision has delayed relaese of jtl as they didnt have enough copys to go round the longer they leave it the more copys they gona have left over as many people are buying cd-keys on line and down load the game and dont need to go buy or order from shops so by the time its on the shelfs its to late we all have it ......

all this mess could have been averted if soe from the start said if your on dial up you can pre order from them that way less disks would have been needed and the rest of us could pay for the cd-key direct with soe and download jtl there would have been enough copys for dial up accounts to have been sent out on time and every one is a winner and if your on dial up and wana have ago downloading so be it least you would have the key from soe to try while you wait for your hard copy to arrive.

This is true and one starring this guy was just plain ignorant. It is not SOE's fault, the individual distributor is to blame here.

If i run a paper shop and employ an incompetant Paperboy, I have only myself to blame.

N'est Pas?

Why defend SOE. They compromised the fairness of their own game by contracting Muppets.

By the time it is officially over here I would imagine most people in the UK will have their copy and will have had it for some time, simply because they will have ordered from the States or from a download website. Which means Activision UK loses out in money and so do the shops...

/shrug

As has been said, order it over the net, it'll probably work out about the same price anyway, seeing as I remember one shop stating it would cost £26.99, thought can't remember which shop it was.

Whilst I was thinking that whilst it isn't SOE's fault, they would surely be involved in sorting the issue out, I suddenly thought, no why would they? They get reports that people from UK are ordering over the net, so no need to worry. But then, it does beg the question, if the CD key is needed with the rest of the stuff being downloadable, then why didn't SOE go solely with the download method in the first place? I know there are some people that don't have credit cards, but it is easy to just get a friend who does have one, order a copy for you and then give them the cash for the product. Before anyone also mentions people that play on 56k modems, well, considering that there is only 634mb of stuff that needs to be installed off of the disc compared to the huge download, that can't be a reason either.

Bottom line is, if SOE had gone purely with the download option from the launch date AND done the gamestop/EB games offer re: pre-order of JtL getting you a Flash Speeder. Then a lot of people could've had it at launch date and there wouldn't be the ton of threads complaining.

As for manpower being an issue with this idea, think of it this way, surely they could setup a computer to do it, using near enough the same stuff they have now..

Example of 'Pre-ordering JtL via Launchpad'

  1. Player logs in, goes to account screen, registers for download of JtL.

  2. Player waits for live day.

  3. Live day comes, Player logs in, the login server (or whatever we connect to when we load up the launchpad) makes note of Players registration and downloads and enables JtL for player account and takes the money for the expansion. Maybe have it so if player ordered before a certain time they get 'Flash Speeder' as well.

Is it hard to do this?

This is beyond a joke now, whether its SOE's fault or not it is their responsibility to give some form of responce to its international customers, if they feel like we are worth it.

Right now their has been to official notification about what is happening about this problem and what action which is being taken about it, if any.

Not only do we not receive the flash speeder we are also looking at having our release date pushed back AGAIN...............................

I want some form of reward for us Eurpoean players who have put up with all this crap!!!

SORT IT OUT
