Also, the reason you are capped at 200,000 is because that's your current cap. Once you get 3222, your cap will be 1 mil.

Ok I just came back after a 4 month haitus. After spending about a week trying to figure out how bad the CU really was, I try my hand at space. I relaized that I have 200K of starship combat xp. Im elgible for 3/2/2/2 now (currently have 2/2/2/2). However my trainer wil not train me. Apparently I have to complete a mission first?
And i remember this mission....I hated this so much I remember it even after 4 months. Its the imperial mission where you go from Yavin to Endor and protect a stolen research vessel against 5 waves of teir 4 rebel ships.
Anyone know if there is a WAY I can get a trainer to train me? I cannot continue this mission without a MArk 3 ship.

You're going to have to. 
Tier 3 boxes do not use XP. The box comes only from the mission itself--complete a mission, get the box. There's no bug involved.

And, just to echo what's been said a thousand times before, not everyone can do every mission solo. Don't assume you need a new ship, ask a friend or two to fly with you.
And, ah, are you running droid programs?
