how do you use them properly? as i try to use them, and it just does nothing. doesnt tractor objects/minerals anything. even when targeted.

oh, and when do you get the tractor quest rewards? is it after youve done those mining missions for the guy in the tree on kash?

To use the tractor beam, you must first blast the asteroid (resource asteroid) with your mining lasers until a large chunk breaks off. Blast way the large chunk until it blows up into smaller pieces. Then you can tractor in the smaller pieces by aiming at them and firing your beam like you woud a laser.

Also, you'll need to learn a few choice curse words to say when the asteroid bits fly over your c*ckpit instead of into your cargo hold while you're tractor-ing them!

What, You don't like the tractor beam tango?

Another fun game is (well I call it this anyway) yonk, that is where you use your tractor to pull asteroids your buddy is trying to suck up off course... if you do it just right you can get the little suckers going pretty darn fast.
