I am a tier 4/4/4/4 pilot going into master pilot after i finish the vette mission, i am wondering is there a certan time that the vette is in the system or is it random?

I don't know if it's a fixed time to start with, but it's basically every 2-3 hours, and it's in-system for 45 minutes. Last night, I noted the jump-out time (I was trying to shoot off the secondary shield at the time on an evading Vette) and it was back two hours later, but I think I've seen shorter intervals.

You need a few things for a run on the Ravager:
0. Check the exit point. Rapax's guide (linked from the FAQ stickied at the top of the pilot forum) lists them. The Ravager will not spawn unless the gunboats are clear. Sloppy, rushed and careless bastards will neglect to pop these before/after the ship spawns.
1. Set a waypoint for 5000, 5000, 5000. It is a convenient location, close to an asteroid field to hide in and sit idle.
2. If you are flying with a wingman, bring some dice. Just about any artisan can make them for you.Play craps or high-low. Play for high stakes or low stakes. Just have some fun with it, because you may be in for a wait.
3. Read the guide to help figure out how to best tackle the thing if it is your first time... The first time I ran the mission we had 15 pilots in one group and a high mortality rate because nobody knew what they were doing.
