As long as their thinking about adding capital(probably nothing as big as star destroyers or mon-cal cruisers) ships to the player-pilotable ship roster, some other cool ships to add would be:

Fighter class ships:

Jedi starfighter Mk. 1(original style)

Droid Starfighter

Geonosian Starfighter

T-47 Airspeeder

V-Wing

Gunship/transport/lower capital class ships:

Republic Gunship(LAAT Gunship)

The Trade Federation MAF

Imperial Assault Gunboat

Rebel Gunship

Nym Gunship

Lamda Shuttle

Aren't the T-47 and the V-wing atmospheric flighters?

And after seeing the ridiculous stats they gave the latest batch of fighters, I can honestly say I hope they never add another ship.

Crixx, Xicrx and Crixxorian Darkmoon - Rebellion, Corsec and Imperial Ace Pilots respectively.
"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."
"If your pvp battles in space only last a few seconds YOU need practice. The game isn't broken, you just suck!" - Thik
"There's no sensation quite like learning to fly. Tounge-tied and twisted, just an earth-bound misfit, I." -Pink Floyd
"One/two shot PvP is good because this is a game of EVASION. NOT ABSORBTION" - Big mean heartbreaker.
"Sod implementing anything half-decent, we have SWG to make! OLOL!"
"We already have expertise in space. It's called a brain." - Leaph.

In another game which I can't recall (not the X-Wing series), it was a space based, completely different looking fighter.

Now, in Revenge of the Sith, it is (by Original Trilogy era standards) an obsolete fighter from the late era of the Clone Wars.

But, the movies hold precedence, so the V-Wing in ROTS is what it will be known as from here on out...

Also, thanks for the correction on the YT-2400 and Dash Rendar... oops!

No more prequel stuff. The devs need to at least make a token effort to remember what era this game was supposed to set in. I will say this though: Aesthetically, the Delta 7 Jedi Starfighter looks much more pleasing to the eye than the Jedi Interceptor.

The T-47 is an atmospheric fighter.

The V-Wing is a prequel era fighter now (ROTS; seen escorting the Lambda predecessor).

A couple Original Trilogy era starfighters, some taken from the rich history of the X-Wing games:
(EDIT TO ADD: Of course, not all these things are to be commanded / captained by the player!)
Planetary Fighter
Skipray Blastboat (There are some hardcore fans of this heavy fighter)
Preybird Fighter
R-41 Star Chaser
Cloakshape Fighter
Star Viper (Black Sun's Fighters from Shadows Of The Empire)
Supa Fighter (Not a misspelling)
Toscan Fighter
Cygnus Spaceworks' Imperial Assault Gunboat (Great fighter bomber)
TIE Avenger (Further development of the TIE Advanced & TIE Interceptor programs. Awesome fighter)

The rest is mostly compiled from the X-Wing series of games. Lots of rich background here...
Shuttles & Transports:
Stormtrooper Transport
Escort Transport (Advancement over the ST Transport)
Escort Shuttle
Imperial Landing Craft (A large, elongated, heavy transport of the awesome Lambda Shuttle)
Lambda Shuttle (Token suggestion)
Corellian Eng. Corporation's YT-2000 ("Otana" from XWA)
Corellian Eng. Corporation's YT-2400 ("Outrider" from the "Shadows Of The Empire" book & N64 game; flown by Dash Rendar)
Modified Action Transport
Passenger Liner
Scout Craft (I always liked the look of this craft)

Ships:
Home One (The unique, very large, Alliance flagship of the OT era. Made by the Mon Calamari, commanded by Adm.Ackbar)
MC-80 Reef Home Class- Mon Calamari Cruiser
MC-80 Liberty Class- Mon Calamari Cruiser
MC-40a Lulsa Class- Mon Calamari Cruiser
Modified Nebulon-B Frigate (used by both sides)
Strike Cruiser (cost effective light cruiser; utilized by both sides)
Executor Class Super Star Destroyer (I doubt JTL can present this magnificient ship in all her 17.6km glory!)
Imperial Immobilizer 418- Interdictor Cruiser (Gravity Wells project a cone to bring ships out of Lightspeed that pass through it; also prevents jumping to Lightspeed while it is on... awesome story / scenario potential!)
Imperator Star Destroyer Mk.I (Otherwise called the Imperial Star Destroyer, or ISD I)
Imperator Star Destroyer Mk.II (Firepower increased by at least x2. The ISD II)
Victory Star Destroyer Mk.I (The supposed Clone War era warship, but ROTS introduced the Venator Class instead)
Victory Star Destroyer Mk.II
Carrack Cruiser
Lancer Frigate (Developed by the Empire after the loss of the 1st Death Star. Purpose? Pure, anti-starfighter duty to escort the larger, more valuable Imperial ships. Really nasty to fight against in a starfighter)
Dreadnaught (Old Republic era "Battleship" but surpassed by every major warship since the Clone Wars)
Escort Carrier (Used by both sides)
Marauder Class Corvette (Used by Pirates and other assorted, unlawful scum... except the Rebels)
System Patrol Craft
Various Freighters
Various Cargo Craft

Some platforms and stations:
Various Shipyards
Various Space Colonies
Various Repair Yards
Golan Gun Platforms (Very large platforms solely dedicated to heavy firepower)

The devs have alot of room to develop their own Original Trilogy Craft and hopefully able to borrow from the X-Wing series, which have a very extensive library of ships. Ships that old fans like us wouldn't mind seeing in today's computers again.

And a little comment: How about an Asteroid field area where it really is a danger to fly. Scenarios shown in Attack of the Clones and Empire Strikes Back would be awesom. Not the kiddie safe Asteroids we have in JTL right now. One place the devs can start for an Asteroid Field: Alderaan, LOL!

Good point with the T-47, just a concept I had, you guys seem to know more about star wars than me, I am letting you handle this forum, thanks!

Two of the links in my sig take you to X-Wing: Alliance websites. Browse around, you'll see pictures of many of those ships I listed.

I left out the Imperial Missile Boat and TIE Defender for a good reason. The Rebels will whine and howl about them to no end!

Mon Cal Cruiser!

That rebel frigate, i forgot the name... that med ship

A Corvette for goodness sake!

The mercenary light, medium, and heavy frieghters as seen in JTL, and Warlod Class Battle Cruiser- you don't see them that often

There is also a mention of a newer class of the B wing, during the Pre JTL advertisements, under the ship descriptions, they mentioned a two passenger b wing, it would be nice cuz the rebels don't have anything like the krayt, and the imps should get a forward firing two player ship too, not that the ARC is not a bad ship but its tactics are radically different and can only be used in certain situations. The rebel two player ship, the y wing, well, its crap, its tier 1, and i know i know, im complaining, but all im saying is that the 2 player B wing that the advertisements made a quick mention of would be really really cool, seeing as though the B wing is my favorite ship. (Im one of the few that took the time to learn to fly it lol, c'mon, you cant argue with 4 RE'd Reward guns, an RE level 10 sheild, and an RE level 10 engine all in the same ship)

we could surely use a "modular" ship system...

So "uglies" could be possible.

I know what I would fly then....

The Frigate you speak of, first seen in the last scene of Empire Strikes Back, is the Nebulon-B Frigate. The Nebulon-B is already in JTL. But like all the ships & platforms, they just sit there and do nothing, and you can't do anything to them.

As for the 2-seater B-Wing... I don't recall anything about that. Never seen one in the movies or the X-Wing series (or any Star Wars space game) that had a 2-seater version.

Also, the ARC-170 is a Rebel Ship, according to JTL's "skewed series of events." For an Imperial to get it and use it, they need to drop being an Imperial. That's unacceptable, at least for me.

But then again, IMO, not all the factions need an equivalent / copy. There needs to be some uniqueness, but that's just me.

I remember way back in early JTL BETA the Nebulon-B frigate was actually targetable with sub systems. Not sure why that was removed, but the code is definitely there to 'activate' it. I'd love to have a poke at it!

Two seater B-Wing was in the KJA Jedi Academy Trilogy, and I believe showed up in a few more books.

I'm waiting for that Lambda to show up. Sort of lame how they made the Decimator which had to be designed for the game, when the had the Lamda sitting right there. If they do introduce this shuttle, I wish they would at least allow you to land it anywhere or possibly pilot on the ground game. I'm not saying attacking, but it would be like the speeder bikes. I finally witnessed a shuttle coming in and dropping off a squad of troops the other day, so it's plain to see that you can have the models in there with the flight physics.
