Honestly I would suggest Kettemore for your second server. Not just because I already have an Imperial ace there either. From what I have seen Kettemore is second only to Starsider as far as pilot community and parts availability and I've checked quie a few servers. I created a toon on Bria after JTL launched as part of my search for good JTL servers but I wasn't that impressed with the situation.

Thanks, and its K-E-T-T-E-M-O-O-R.
Hope that L6 is behavin' for you.
For the basics, the vast majority of the PvPing pilot corps of Kettemoor on both sides of the faction divide keep things pretty cordial up there. We realize there are not a helluvalot of us who PvP, and the main reason we fly is to keep our heads out of the ground game's mire. What we do not want to see is the drama that killed Kettemoor's ground war and drove it to Lok and various starportsalso turning and killing the space game.
One thing we've done at PvP events since the first post-ROTW event back in May has been to restrict chassis in PvP events. The Royal Guard TIE, Actis-2 and Belbullab have been sidelined from these events, and its made a world of difference. If the RG TIE ever gets its hitbox fixed, it will be embraced with open arms. The other two have been recognized as critically out of whack and as a matter of courtesy, they've been put to pasture pending some rebalancing effort by the Devs. The result of this has been a major resurgence of TIE Fighters into the mix, including a few souls brave enough to bring Oppressors and Bombers into the fray with impressive results. Rebels have flocked to the A-Wingand Advanced X-Wing, with a few equally brave souls venturing out in B-Wings and Nova Couriers. Interspersed among us are Vaksai, Rhix, the occassional Krayt, and one crazy Imperial bastage who has an ARC-170 that dances like a ballerina on crack.
Bottom line: There's diversity up there, not just monochrome faction generic JSF drama. Its pretty awesome and we go to great lengths to preserve it.

Sounds interesting. But one thing... if someone isn't on the correct server, sure they can get novice Pilot. But without enough credits, they wont be able to afford decent components and ships. It would take a whole lot of space combat and missions to get enough credits to purchase these things. Sounds like a pain to me.
A couple weeks ago on Kettemore I crated a new character and ground all the way from novice to master in about 4 play session. All the while I was able to upgrade as needed. By the time I was done I had 1.2 mil after buying my Oppressor and I held back all my good parts for RE. I was doing Imperial too which is by far the most expensive because you relly need to upgrade ships almost every chance you get. It isn't that hard.
I am Posting here to let pilots know that I have started a Website to try and help bolster space combat. There are tons of Squadrons out there on the different servers and some even get together and have some battles from time to time. It is based around 2 ideas.
1) Using SWG in game Chat channels to create a Chat Channel called the Pilot Lounge, that is a open no-invite chat that people can monitor when they log on if they feel like doing space combat. This along with the squadron database I’ll be updating will strengthen individual servers.
2) Two Alt servers. Designate two servers to be main space combat servers. People not from that server can create “alt” characters on the server for Bi-monthly Large Space battles. It takes very little time to make and maintain a Pilot Alt character. Starsider has been chosen as one dedicated Space server because the Pilot population is very strong there. I am searching for the second. I’ve been checking out Bria which seems like the second best choice. (Any opinions, please email me [email protected])
The reason for 2 servers is so people can make a Rebel alt and a Imperial alt, (that’s not to say one couldn’t be neutral, but you get the jist) Or if someone is Diehard reb/imp they could either make two of those or just stick to one server.
Each Month there will be 1-2 large space battle events planned for these two servers. The goal here is 100+ vs 100+. This will take very little time away form people’s main servers.

You can read more about this in detail at the Website. Please send your squadron information to me as well and I’ll get your squad’s contact page up and going.

I just got it up an running on Friday, and I’m not a veteran web designer yet. I’m working on Upgrading the sight with more features.
Thanks

Kettemore like Starsider also has a large roleplaying population who have the resources to set up large events and provide a story for them. This is essential for creating community interest.

Thanks for the input on Kettemoor. I will work on looking into it. So far I've heard some good things aboutKettemoor else where as well.
As for the difficulty of creating a new pilot on another server; money is not an issue. Getting up through the ranks is not hard either if you know how to be efficient. I have a Page on Making Money 101 in space on SwgAce.com under the Pilot Resources page. I will start work on a Help page for pilots going from Novice to Ace the fastest way possible. If you have a friend to help get through the 60k exp of tier 2 trees, you can go thorugh it very quickly. I say friend even when refering to you starting a new character on a new server. You do not know any one. However there in lies the reason for CHoosing the server the way I did. People are very kind on Starsider, get up in space and ask people to tag along on Exp trips. You can be teir 1 and 2 and still follow a tier 3 and 4 into Kessel. If you hit a ship a few times, you get the full 4-6k exp for the kill.
Going through the levels generally generates enough money to buy decent enough parts. Use the Galaxie Vendor search feature to your advantage. I was able to deck out my tier 3 Bomber very nicely for 30k.
Also, don't neglect Droid commands. I know most non-ace pilots don't use them, heck my first time through Ace, I didn't even know what they were for until I got handed a lvl 6 flight computer at my Ace Ceromony on Chilastra. They can make your teir 2, 3 and 4lives very easy. There are vendors on Starsider that sell these computers for under 5k. and you can buy Unprogramed chips for 1k or less. Programed chips for 1k-5k. If your a miser like me, it can be done very cheap and efficiently.
I went from novice to tier 3 2 2 2 yeasterday in 5 hours. I had my Ace friend disable some tier 4 ships in Dathomir to get the Exp for all of tier 2 in 45 minutes, he also got me the exp for all of teir 1 in a matter of a few minutes with the same method. Then it was just up to me to fly the missions. He helped me on one. You can fly in yuour novice craft with a little help like this until you get your teir 2 craft. This way you don't have to spend time, money, and effort with outfitting a teir 1 ship.
Enough Jibba Jabber.
Thank you all for the interest people have showed in the Sight, thank you for the encouraging E-mails you have been writing me for those that have.
The Website is a Resource for the community. I will try to fill it out with more information as soon as I can. If you have any tutorials of your own you'd like me to put up for the Community, please send them to me:
See if you can get a Pilot Lounge going on your server. Its hard at first becasue it works off the principle that a majority of the pilots use it. So to make it work, you have to circulate the idea to pilots on your server. Make up an E-mail about it and Forward it you yourself. When you meet a new pilot, send it you him/her to let them know about the Pilot Lounge chat room.

We also need a Transdosian only guild to war with... that would be wicked.
