Thread: Question Reguarding Items In Your Yatch.
If you put something in it and then land does your ship stay up there and your stuff to or does the database just keep track and it sets everything back up when you launch it?
Also I noticed that you can add people to admin list does this mean that they can ""Dock"" with your ship in space and join your or do they have to be in your group and launch with you?
Any help will be awsome thanks.
Inside of the ship holds contents just like a house.
Unfortunately: Beware. Inside of the ship holds contents *just* like a house. There is no evidence that they have actually fixed any of the multitude of storage bugs in JTL:
- Under numerous conditions, placing items into a container in a house or ship will cause the container to stop displaying inventory except when you pick it up. If you don't notice this and continue to manipulate the parent container (house/ship) you will eventually lose the contents of the fault container. The affected container will need to be destroyed to ever work properly again.
- Items on ships can become invisible. This will often cause items placed after them to become invisible.
- If you visit another house/ship without realising an item in the house/ship inventory has become invisible, that item, and possibly others after it, may become unrecoverable until a server reset.
-> If you don't catch the above and manipulate another house/ship inventory, those items may become permanently unrecoverable.
-> If you don't recover your affected items after a server reset and instead manipulate another ship/house inventory, the pre-reset bugged items and the post-reset manipulated items may all probably be lost.
(Edit: Missed one)
- Transfering a non-empty container from one storage to another (house->house or house->ship) can cause some of the above to occur. Empty your containers before dropping them into a new storage, and put the contents back into them once placed.
Note: Many of these bugs only show up when you are in posession of more than one non-bank container (house/ship). You are significantly more likely to experience these bugs if transfering items between houses or from a house to a ship.
*** Don't store anything valuable in a container in your house, in your house, or in your ship. Store them in your bank or your inventory.
*** Don't mix and match placement of containers and regular items. Drop all your furniture, per e.g., then leave, and come back to place your containers. Then leave, come back, and put stuff in the containers.
*** When populating a house, regularly leave the house and go > 500m away - preferable into someone elses house or store. Then go back to your house and re-check the items you just placed. This will cause any invisibility to surface sooner rather than later.
*** Frequently check the inventory of containers in your house against the item count.
*** Make sure you keep a record of *when*, *how*, from which vendor or player you obtain any new, valuable items, and if you store it in a house, keep a record of when you move the items about.CSRs *will* actually ask you for this information in the event that you report a lost item. Presumably this is because they know their inventory system doesn't work, so they expect the players to keep their own inventory on paper or something. (Yes, I've lost some valuable stuff).
