Thread: if you are a privateer flying a tank...

It seems a lot of privateers get the Krayt or Rihk and deck out tanks with high mass since we historically haven't really had any light fighters. Going from a Rihk to the grevious fighter has completely changed how I play JLS...I can kill the ISD and the double tumbling gunboats at the kessel vette exit with straffing runs, and hit 1390 speed with boosters while still turning pretty tightly. I can tail Ties real tightly instead of always chasing in long spins.

Basically, I am still amazed at how fast JLS has become with just changing out ships, and I recommend any privateers out there that have gotten in the habit of using their tanks to try it out. I had the deed for that ship for a few weeks because I never got around to getting light weight parts, but it was exceptionally worth it when I did.

I haven't tried the modifieds or new privateer ship yet, so they may be pretty good.

I fly the JSF now also but Im only *just* starting to get into flying.. before it was grind grind grind..

Already its kinda funny how easy it is to kill any PvE enemy (gunboats are still rough if they dont fly a set path but they are a ton easier than in a kimogila for example)
Once I get fully outfitted and get a equipment setup I like I imagine it will get even better.

I dont have master yet as I just finally finished my "kill 30 imperial ships" mission but once I do I will definitely try other ships like the Krayt to see if I like them.

I called my Rhik the "Brick". thats the way she steerd. I absolutely love my Krayt, its quite agile.

Inixyen (sp?) was fine, as is Actis, Belbulab. I was slightly disgusted of the Firespray. It movesok. for

a 200t shipbut one of its 2 guns is on its "Nose", so the fire patternis far apart, i would say, not really

worth millions they want for it. I gues its just cause of its canonical Valie as Boba Fet's ship.

The Krayt has, with its guns around the Cockpit a much nicer hit pattern, and yes i get A-Wings and Ties

from it.

I flew every ship there is in JTL. With ROTW i got heavy X-wing and its the best thing on the market. Same load out as a Krayt, great looks (not a saucage/cigar), outstanding turning ability. Krayt was the best before heavy X came out, right now heavy X-wing is #1 on my list....far ahead of everyone else.

I normally fly my Rihk in battle, my Belbullab is kitted out for mining.

Mind you, with an engine designed for manueverability, aMkIV shield and a pair of MkIII mining lasers, it's still a pretty formidable combat craft - I can safely ingore asteroid bandits until I pick up all the current chunks, then dispatch them with the special irony that comes from killing a bandit with a mining laser.

I just flew my Lizzy thru master. It's a very nice dogfighter. Not as nice as the Grivious, but better than those big clumsy things.

Right now, I'm using my Krayt for mining (I want to get it rigged out to see how well it works for gunboats), and my Grivious for pretty much everthing else. (The Y-8 and YT-1300 are mostly just fun to play with... just not in combat...., I take the ARC out on occasion when helping either new pilots or friends that are re-mastering, and the lizzy is mothballed at the moment)

I flew my Dunelizard through Ace Smuggler. Then gave up and began CorSec pilot...then I discovered that sincethe Lizzard is a tier 1 ship I only have to grind to 1000 to hop back into it, even though its still laden with level 6-8 parts from my Smuggler days. I ground out CorSec Ace in a couple days after that and am about to start on the RSF ace.
