Okay, now thatI've started play JTL as a privateer, I do have a question that's been nagging at me. I thought I read somewhere that the Smuggler's Alliance would encompass smuggling missions for multiple pirate/smuggler factions. AND...one of my first experiences after installing JTL was running into two opposg NPCs outside a starport -- one of them told me to fly for Jabba, the other told me to fly for Lady Valarian! In fact, the Valarian guy mentioned getting a ship and everything.

So here's the question. Is the Smuggler's Alliance JUST a Jabba faction? Will I ever be able to get missions from Lady Valarian? I'm halfway through the Valarian ground quests and have sided with her over Jabba. But Tallon Karde and company seem to be pretty much in Jabba's camp. So what's the deal?

I was wondering about this myself.......I have a character who is Valarian faction and -5000 Jabba.

Well, in Beta, you started off flying for Valarian and then switch over to Jabba as you progress through the skills. I don't know if its changed though.

i have the game guide for JTL it says that you fly for the valarian during Tier 2 and huttsTier 1,3,4

Ahhhhh.... So THAT'S how they decided to handle it. You fly for a different faction depending on which tier you're on. How very...weird.

I mean, I can see the Smuggler's Alliance offering jobs from both Valarian and Jabba. But I would expect you to take one over the other. Not do both, and switch back and forth between them.

Also kind of weird that your overall faction ratings don't seem to matter when it comes to the space missions, and you don't gain faction points unless you fly for Imps or Alliance, and kill opposing ship.

Oh well. Still having a blast.
