HI,
I'm still waiting for my copy of JTL. I havesome simple questions about multiplayer ships like the YT-1300. How can you buy them? I mean, do you need to buy them in group or a single player owns them? Who's the pilot? What requirements do you need to buy a multiplayer ship (for example, profession skills, certifications, etc.etc.). And finally, how much do you think they will cost?

1 person owns them. master shipwrights make them, only master pilots can fly them, cost wise... the basic chassis takes as much as a guild hall. so i would guess the cassis is about the same price. upgrades on the other hand could be a bit more.

There's 3 MP ships as said before. To use it you must be master in your pilot's skill-tree. For example, if you want toown the YT-1300, you have to be Master Privateer.
You buy them as blueprints from a shipwright, then go to the chassis-dealer to buy the deed. While in-space, anyone can fly it, if the owner put them on a admin-list for the ship, you don't have to be master Privateer to FLY it yourself, just to own it.
I assume that they will cost a couple of 100k's in the beginning. I suspect a price-fall after some time.

As I understand it anyone can buy a mulitplayer ship from a shipwright. You will need to have the right skill to fly one (master for YT-1300) but other than that you don't need anything else. All you have to do is form a group, select your ship and launch and the group will launch with you. Anyone that has the right skill can fly the ship. Where groups come in handy for the larger mulitplayer ships is for damage control and manning the gun turrets. If you want out in a YT-1300 on your own you wouldn;t actually be able to attack anyone.
This is my understanding of it all and could quite possibly be wrong as I don't have JtL yet (european). As for the cost of the ships .... I think this will be debated for a time and likely to be subject to change often depending on all sorts of things but the higher the ship cert the more you will pay (up over the million markI'd think).

huh? when i tried in beta i got a message sayin 'you are not certified to fly this ship' so, i think if your in a YT, only other master privateers can take the bridge. on the yacht, everyones qualified...
this changed since ebta?

no worries dude. i got that message at the hull of a friends decimator while i was a freelancer.
the main thing about MP ships, is the difficulty to use them efficiently. you need about 6 people to use them well.
1 pilot
1 opps person
2 gunners
2 repair engeneers.
(optional) 1 master doctor with alot of burn packs.
