ive had jtl since launch. Im only like 1111 in rebel pilot. I have trouble forcing myself to keep doing missions for the same rebel guy on yavin4 with the same old escort or ship stealing story line.I usually just stay on the ground leveling up in rifleman or doin some story driven missions or checking out poi, or winning swoop races. I tried flying around in space just randomly looking at poi and found my self either not seeing any ships to shoot at or being jumped by a swarm of higher level ships and getting smoked not to mention the poi wher not all that interesting. The main reason i go into space is just to sell the abundant parts i loot. So my questions are. Is there a place or person to see who gives good, varied story driven missions. Are there really any poi worth visiting. Finally, how the heck DO you get to kessel or deep space. I just want to say that i do like flying in space and the gunning down enemy ships but killing the same old tie fighters gets old. So where can i find some content? i am obviously looking in the wrong place.

dam straight you are.
Lots of stations have nice missions that are for tier 1/2 and possible 3 pilots.
And I recently realised that named npcs (like a Hutt Informant above tatooine) can sometimes be hailed to get fairly easy missions.
I then realised that for tiers 1 and 2 duties are'nt really needed because these missions would give you enough xp easily.
Go to the Hutt Claims POI in Tatooine space and hail the guy in the dune lizard, or the mining station they give you well paying missions. The last part was bugged though as the hutt force that attacks the station agroed me and then the mos eisley police agroed me too.
Thankfully I was in a firespray

since im rebel those hutt guys wont talk to me. I did find out that i can take missions from the dantooine spacestation. Does anyone know where to get rebel missions while in space instead of having to land on the ground over and over again?

You might try the station over Yavin 4. I went there once as an imp pilot and the mission involved dealing with some debris cultists who were trying to salvage pieces of the death star. It involved a rescue mission, so perhaps they would offer it toa rebel pilot as well.

Woah. There are actually ships you can hail that will give you missions? Any idea if there are more than just this one guy?

As a Rebel you can do missions from the Yavin IV space station, Dantooine space station, Lok space station and Rori Space station.
Some are story driven and after you complete the story you can still do duty mission which are good for experience, loot and of course credits.
You mentioned though that your a rebel pilot at 1111. You should know then that most of those stations are tier 2 and up in mission difficulty.
The rori station may not even give you a mission until your a higher level since you have to take on some Level 4 ships.

JtL is a quick grind, even for a casual player. I started in November and hit ace just before New Years.
I find JtL full of content. I just pick a point and go flying. My favorite place is Lok, as there are many targets to choose from. Not all places in space are equally populated, but once you find the locations, you'll do an hour easy.
For my grinding, I always picked the kill missions. You got XP, parts, and money fast. One full mission nearly got me a box. Even at a slow grind, that's fast.
IMHO, the real content of JtL is the flying. If you enjoy the dogfighting, then you get all the content that you enjoy.
