Thread: I liked what I saw in the update notes today

I have to agree, for the most part. There WAS some good stuff in there. However, I am very against the fact that once again, Imperials get shafted. Is it really so hard to put stuff into these publishes for Imperials to get a little love?

And let me be VERY clear: I AM NOT AGAINST NEUTRALS AND REBELS GETTING ANYTHING, I am against the Imperials getting nothing as usual.

But on the whole, it IS nice to see them adding stuff, rather than nerfing or removing. Also, with the PvP aspects, we should start seeing alot more PvP action in space. That was a very nice touch, as well.

You may as well say the rebs got nothing, we got another set of shield commands. Still no overloads for our faction or any other droid programs besides Shield stuff. Besides you can still trade program chips anyway so nobody really isnt getting more then another. Also they havnt fixed the invulnerability top and bottom bug thats been in for 3 months or more now.

Without being able to tell where they're at and track them, I decided it wouldn't be worth my time to keep buying ships and pay for repairs to keep loosing them. (I play solo alot) Some kind of definite means to discern their position and identify the ship I'm fighting would bea huge enticement to play again. The last time I saw a note that said we could see them better on radar didn't make much difference. Please add a better targeting and tracking mechanism.

I thought I was the only one... NOTHING has shown up on my radar for the last week or two (last publish?). I find escort missions of any sort to be frustrating because I have to zoom the camera way out and spin around to find the freighter every time I engage enemies. It's also a little annoying when enemies spawn behind me and the only idea I have that they are there is when the music starts...

I think I can understand why Imperials didn't get any new commands. With the exception of privateers now, we were the only profession that got droid commands that affected seperate systems: engines and capacitor. Rebels could only alter their sheilds and privateers could only alter their reactor. Things are evened up a bit more now, at least for privateers.

I still have this one request: Please add some kind of targeting mechanism to help us track enemy ships. For example: When an enemy ship is targeted, it should be highlighted with a box or brackets that are easily seen against the field of space, and when it moves out of our field of view, we should have some kind of tracking arrow to point us in the right direction to pilot our ship and bring it back into our field of view.

I don't know about you, but when my targets are too far away to be tracked visually, i have an arrow that points in my targets general direction. When i'm heading toward my target the arrow fades away, when I go off track, it reappears. Once I'm oriented to this arrow, I can also track the target by looking at it the distance indicator intop right corner.

I do agree though, it would be nicer if your target was bracketed for close quarter fighting - especially when fighting Tie fighters as they look similar.

For those of you who can't seem to find stuff on your radar, did you knowthe distance isadjustable, just like the ground game. I don't really have a proble knowing where my target is, and yes ther is a blue arrow that show's up when your target is off screen, and it fade's away when on screen.

This is a good answer but you didn't mention what range is best or optimal in JTL. Myself, I like 2000m or so. This keep all enemies that are potential threats in view on the radar. Generally, enemies don't seem to attack me unless I get close to 1000m or so. If I am in an area with few or no threats, I may click out the range to 8000m. This usually gives me a better picture of what direction I need to fly in order to mix it up a bit.

The additions made in Publish 11.4 were nice to see, and I rally appreciate it. I noted there were more things given to us, and some minor fixes rolled out as opposed to restrictions made and features taken away. i think that's working in the right direction, in my humble opinion. I appreciated seeing notes on new beeps added to ships, new commands, enabling /follow and granting new pilots an upgradeable ship with a hyperdrive. The PvP changes were nice to see also.

I'm not playing JTL right now because I'm still working on my Professions for the core game and I'm waiting on just one feature to be added.

Shipwrights: Don't worry about us getting an upgradeable ship for me. Now we have a "distribution platform" so you can readily sell us new components right from the beginning until we need a better chasis. I think that was a very smart thing to do.
