Wouldn´t it be nice to have "Formation" chat commands for grps? i.e. a grp with 1MP ship and4 Fighters would enter lets say a "arrow" formation... The grp leade triggers it and the ships get into Formation via autopilot like this

there's already a way to do formations. It's in the game if you look for it, or read the manual.

I think that is leftovers from beta. There was a bunch of formation stuff, but I'm pretty sure it all got dropped.

There was (when JTL was released) on the toolbar a "Formation" button, but gave a sys msg error when you tried to use it.

Now I can't even find the command. In Beta I couldn't get formation to work either.

I believe it's crossing a Squad Leader command and is being worked on to fix.

Ship formations WERE in beta, absolutely. However, between the very end of beta and launch they were removed. I am not clear on why, though if I interpolate my experience with other space MMOs and formations, my guess would be latency issues causing the formations to not work properly. Though I don't see any of that in JTL when using /follow, so I do often wonder why they were taken out.

Obviously, it was a late change, since it did NOT get removed from the manual.
