I have the sensor launcher but as yet have wasted upwards of 100k buying ammo that I cannot load into it.

Chaff launcher (ammo - chaff pack) and micro-chaff (ammo - micro-chaff packs)launchers are the only two kinds of counter measure launchers I use on my fighter/bomber type of ships as other launchers takeup too much mass and the kind of ammo they use are not easy to find, unless youknow a few shipwrights willing to spend their limited resources on expendables. Chaff packs and micro-chaff packs, however, are always available on the bazaar. Ihave a IFF confuser launcher on my VT-49 but haven never really used it.

I use Micro-Chaff, and I've personally never been hit except for when an NPC fires a missile too close for me to react quickly enough. When I use it with time to spare, it never has failed.

Considering the price of CMs, if you can take the hit, suck it up - and if you know what direction the missile is coming from, if you whip around at the last minute, you can direct the blast to whichever half is stronger at the moment.
