Please note this is ref the UK (repeat UK) release date, we already know you yanks have got your copies!

Amazon say 12th Nov, Game shops say "no idea as they have no pre release info" (as of 5 mins ago).

Exactly when is this expansion pack being released to the UK?

I'd imagine by the time we get our grubby little hands on it there will be a server full of master pilots and master shipwrights. This really disadvantages those outside of the USA .

If anyone in the UK industry has any info please post

I was about to post on this same subject. I've contacted both lucasarts and activision (lucasarts UK distributor) and had no reply (been waiting over 5 days now). Just checked this morning and Games website still says 29th (this friday), but play.com and amazon.co.uk have both shifted JTL in the UK to november 5th!!

It would be nice to see any comments at all from anyone who may know something. I know SOE are the devs and not the marketing guys here.. but you must (certainly SHOULD) all talk to each other!! I'm pretty certain we've been told before that this was going to be a worldwide release... a delay of over a week to UK (presumably european) release is hardly what I would consider a worldwide release.. that's a staged release with US first.

This isn't a 'it's not fair, the americans get it first' post... I expect that.. it's a 'can we get some consistency and clarification here please' post. It's making the whole enterprise look very amateur.

EDIT:
Finding it even more odd that you have found different info to me jeditimbo.. seeing as we seem to have been looking within a few minutes of each other. Again, doesn't look good in terms of the distributors being able to find their a$$ with both hands and a map. Doesn't reflect well on the game, which is a shame as teh game is very good.

that may well not help seeing as there have been a number of posts indicating that computer game shop owners in the UK have been told by activision (lucasarts UK distributor) that it's not being released until the 12th now! I see no point in ordering with a company because it's website says teh 29th still.. for all we know that's just 'cos they've not updated their site. We need official word on this as retailers are not all saying the same thing atm!

I've (pre) ordered my copyat gamestop.com, in other words Im importing the US version as I did on SWG:Empire Devided.

Shipping cost me as much as the game itself making a total of 55$ (sigh). Gamestop says its shipping (SOE pre-order promotion)out on the 26th so Im crossing my fingers to get my copy around 29th.

I agree - I don't want to preorder if it's going to be delayed by a large amount of time - it would make more sense then to order from the states and await delivery. I was rather hoping that I could walk into a shop on Friday and get a copy, if it's delivered it would be lucky to get it on the Monday

Small update, GAME central customer services state the game is released to their shops on Friday, despite the shop assistant saying he had no idea, but I'm not holding my breath. The Cust serv people at GAME did say some other game (GTA)is released on friday so the hype is all about GTA and minority games wont be on the shops radars - I found that amusing...

But, I'd still appreciate some clarification if anyone has hard reliable info

jeditimbo.. can I suggest you ask game customer services to confirm with the distributor (activision as far as I know) that they will have it for release to stores on friday?... or that they have stock already to ship to their stores?
My plan was to just walk into game in friday and buy JTL (actually my original plan was to walk in tomorrow and see if I could talk them into selling to me then if they had them already but hadn't put them on teh shelves, but that doesn't look promising)

Argh, I just rang Activision - they reckon the only info they have on a release date for the UK is the 5th.

did you ring the activision tech support line?.. or another number? I've rung activision on their general number and left a message with the appropriate person (hopefully, it's who I was put through to when I explained what I was after), and will post here if I hear back from them.

Just heard back from Activision.
Am actually pretty impressed they got back to me so quickly
Bad news is JTL has officially slipped in the UK to 5th November. They are starting to ship stock out to stores from this friday, but they can't release it until the 5th.
Apparently this is all down to them significantly underestimating demand. They realised that if they released this friday with the number of units they had available, it would come nowhere close to meeting demand and pre-orders, so they've pushed it back a week to get hold of more units.

It's a shame, but there we go.

So maybe ordering from gamestop or somewhere US based may be quicker, seeing as we're looking at a week and a half delay here in the UK. Not sure on the situation in other european countries... if your distributor is Activision you're in the same situation... if not then I suggest contacting whoever is.

Hope this info helps.

Ok then seeing as though the uk distributers have totaly messed it up.

Can sony pick up the slack and enable a download of the expansion.

They have done it with other games why not this one ?

And if not why not ?

(they probably have some contract with activision saying they're not allowed to)
