So I'm 1111 - I went out and bought a level 2 astromech, a few empty data cards and a flight computer. I figured out how to burn the data cards, but them in my datapad and then droped them in to the flight computer. I've put my astromech in the ship.... now how the hell do I issue commands to the astromech or use the flight computer? Under ctrl-A for abilities there are no option under astromech. but I should be able to issue shields forward/rear/normal commands - and I burt the data cards with those commands, which are now sitting in the flight computer in my datapad..... ?????? ..... what do I do????? also is there any documentation on this or faq's? The manual that came with the game is useless when it comes to theses issues and I can't find any info on this site.

thanks in advance.

Don't forget to equip your ship with a droid interface. Then after that don't forget to load your droid into your ship. You'll see in the ship management screen there are slots for droid interface and droid/flight computer. HTH.

uh.... wait. I've put the droid interface into the ship and the droid.... but I didn't see an option for the flight computer. Is there a specific option for loading the flight computer, I was looking for it last night and didn't see it.

I believe a flight computer is for ships that don't use droids.

Hmmm... okay lets go over this again.

You bought several unprogrammed chips.
You pulled up the radial and wrote a program to the chip.
You moved the burned chip to your datapad.
You pulled out your droid and opened his datapad and dragged the chips to the droid.
You loaded a droid interface and droid to your ship and it says both are loaded.
You launched into space and pulled up the command menu (ctrl+A) and went to the astromech tab.

IIRC, you can use programs from any of the three professions, but, if you're xxx1 you can only use programs thatare grantedfrom xxx1 in the other profession. You can't use programs that are granted at a higher level than what you have trained.

If you followed all those steps exactly then it should work. I did this in beta (even became an MDE and made a few Adv R3s so I could test it) and it worked great. If it still doesn't work logout and log back in. If that doesn't do anything /bug it and/or fill out a CSR ticket.

The only ships that can use droids are the Z-95, Y-Wing and X-Wing. All other ships will use a flight computer. Also, the only droids that can be used are R-series droids (R2, R3, R4, R5).

Rereading the original post: Either your ship takes a droid or it takes a flight computer. Not both.

If your ship takes a droid you need to call your droid and pull up the radial on him (in the game not in your datapad) and go to droid options and select open data storage. Then drag the programmed chips into the droid's data storage. Then you'll load the droid onto the droid slot of your ship.

If your ship takes a flight computer just load the programmed chips into the flight computer and then load the flight computer onto your ship.

Very good instructions. You should go to work for SOE and give them a hand with their manuals.

LOL! Now what fun would that be to have everything in some sort of orgainzed manual? It takes out all that fun of discovery and sharing with the community.

Make sure you put the programmed chips in what your using, in either flight computer or droid.

If your using a z-95, x-wing, or y-wing you need you chips in your droid. You don't need a flight computer here.

Any other ship you use, you will use your flight computer. Make sure you programmed chips are in that.

Thanks so much guys. I see my problem now. I'm in a z-95 and I put the droid in the ship.... but I never put the burnt data into the droid.... I put them into the flight computer... which the z-95 doesn't use. got it! Thanks again for the information, and making it so clear.
