I think I saw this posted else where- but I just really needed to post It..

Me and another Imp pilot both had JtL, been playing a while etc. We were both grouped, both on Tatooine In bestine. We both launched Into space with Tie Fighters at the same time, we went to the same coords In space... but, I couldnt see him!? we were definatley In the same sector- same background, the space-cloud things etc.. but we could not see or target eachother, also when I tried /who It didnt work either. I scanned through all player targets using L, he didnt come up, he did the same, couldnt target me. We both had different sets of targets, I gave him a list of people I could target (player ships), he couldnt target any of which I could, he then done this with me.

I really dont understand what's going on.. this Is obviously a huge bug as Im sure you were supposed to co-operate with friends In space. Devs could you explain/look Into fixing this? thx..

It's not a bug. Low lvl pilots get lanched into a seperate instance of space over the starter planets. That's why you can't see each other, it's like being in a parallel universe.

This might be the problem you 2 are having....all players that are completing the first 4 boxes of piloting are instanced to one server...(in your server group) while everyone else who has any 2nd level skills in piloting is moved into the standard instance that everyone that has one level 2(teer 2) skill up to master is in.

EX. I have 1211 and im on the gorath server and you are a 1110 and also on the gorath server... you and i are not instanced on the same server....so we will not meet up....

So everyone working one the teer 1 missions are all grouped together away from the what i call (Live server)..where everyone from 2111 to 4444 or master are all together...

As far as i know this was set up so that leveled pilots would not be everywhere kill steeling everything around..so that new players had a chance to advance...and also to lower the amount of people in space...in the same spot for the initial launch of the game..as already the power gamers are well above 1111 pilots..the noobs will all be left alone to skill up..

(I heard about this in beta..and im not 100% sure if this is still being used..or if it was ever totaly implemented....but if it was and you and your friend have different skill levels that might be why)

I hope this helps...and again im not 100% if this went Live....But it was in beta as far as i know.

Yes it is in live. We heard about it in Beta and that is exactly why they implemented it, to keep the space zone relatively uncluttered for low lvl pilots as well as to keep the higher pilots from killing everything in sight. Any pilot higher than 1111 will be in a seperate instance so if you need help doing your mission or just wanna group hunt for xp you need somebody who hasn't finished tier 1 yet.
